Reviews of Foresters Financial
"Unscrupulous business practices! STEER CLEAR! In the process of filing a formal complaint with the NYS department of financial services as well as the Nassau county DA office."
"I Regret having a policy with this company. The hold time when you call for assistance is at least 40 minutes. If you choose to not hold and request a call back as prompted through automated recording, you never get a call back. 9/27/22 spoke with Elaine and I was told they cancelled my fathers policy because they lost track of a payment my bank proves was sent and cashed, although I called each month to keep track of policy and balances. I've been told each time the policy was in good standing. She states the notes show a refund sent for value of the policy to my account electronically but she doesn't have details of when and how much. Research currently going on to settle this matter. The representative Elaine was very nice, professional and helpful I have to say. The story gets worse. 9/26/22 I sent proof of payment and instead of reinstating the policy due to proof of payment in July, they returned the payment to my bank account the next morning that was paid in July and just proved. UPDATE 9/30/22: . I've called everyday since to speak to a supervisor and was told someone will call me backing 24-48 hours. Today Friday end of week I finally get a call back but from the original representative I spoke with (not a supervisor). She states, Forester is "willing" to reactivate the policy for a lump sum payment. At this time, there is no acknowledgement of my proof of payment, it being returned or the research of their payment sent to me. So I asked her to pause and suggested we address those matters first. She states that she has no information on that and a supervisor would have to call me for that.... oh my goodness is this company serious. So when I tell the her reason for asking for a supervisor all week was exactly that, she says sorry, I'll have to put in a request for a call back saying you actually want a supervisor...WTH. So after a week, I'm right where I left off NOWHERE.... waiting for a supervisor."
"Don't even consider this place an option please. For the love of whoever you believe in DO NOT GET ANYTHING FROM THEM!!!!!!"
"STAY AWAY! AVOID AT ALL COSTS! It is my pleasure to place my review for this travesty of a financial institution. If you are considering them for investments, take your money elsewhere. If you were like me, one of the unfortunate souls who was swindled into investing with them, pull your money out and roll it over into another account somewhere else with a more reputable company, such as Lincoln, TD, Chase, etc. Throughout my time here, with them, I was guaranteed to make certain amounts of growth, only to learn that my overall account decreased over the span of a year. Then when I was trying to move my 403b account to somewhere else, I was given the hardest time, demanded of that I get a "medallion signature" in order to effect the transfer; they even told me to have the new account to do it, to guarantee I'm good for the money (of which I still had none there; really intelligent of Foresters, right?). This is aside from the fact that "medallions" are only used for paper-based securities transfers. It didn't make sense to me, and I'm sure it's not making sense to you right now. If that's the case, you learned your lesson early. STEER CLEAR form Foresters. On a final note, I haven't heard from my representative since over a year ago when they first hungrily grabbed my money. As long as they get their fees to pay for what they want, that's all that matters; we don't matter at all. Stay safe and invest smart (do not invest with Foresters)."
