Reviews
"This place is a jewel: a non-profit staffed mostly by volunteers. It trends away from the block-busters and towards the thoughtful, more meaningful films, as well as theater and opera. Membership brings your ticket price down to $6.00. It's truly a special place."
"Best kept secret in Patchogue. Great little theater. Love the Blue Velvet lounge. Serves beer & wine while watching select movies. Excellent addition to a night out in the village."
"Whenever I can, I try my best to support non-chain/independent movie theaters across the Island (Cinema Arts, Seaford Cinemas, Malverne). The Plaza was on my list of cinemas to visit, and I'm glad I finally got the chance to swing by and watch a screening of Showing Up. There’s ample parking, I was able to park a few feet away from the entrance. My ticket, popcorn, and drink cost $19 in total. The popcorn is served plain, but there’s a DIY station where you can add your own butter, salt, and other flavor seasonings. The seats were super plush and comfortable. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience and can see myself coming back for future screenings!"
"I have lived in Patchogue before this theater and now after retiring I can finally enjoy the movies there. I have seen two movies so far and am thinking about volunteering there. Friendly staff and the only delima is the parking but it is Patchogue right? ugh but please visit if you are thinking about it."
"I’ve been going to The Plaza since I was 16.... I'm 21 now. It is such a wonderfully intimate place to see a movie, as they only have one screening room. Attached to the room is a charming bar serving fresh popcorn and drinks. They offer such a diverse selection of not only films to see but discussion events and classes to learn about cinema from. I hope COVID doesn’t bring this wonderful space down, as it has with so many other establishments. Movies I’ve seen there: Moonlight Vice Eight Grade Yesterday Don’t Look Up Portrait of a Lady on Fire Parasite The Farewell ROMA The Last Blackman In San Francisco First Reformed The Florida Project Call Me By Your Name Lady Bird Good Time A Ghost Story Jackie La La Land"
