"I have never written a review. JB pools has be unprofessional and terrible to do business with. From the first time this company came to my house they were truly rude. They opened our pool, stated one price for opening pool and hit us with multiple other charges. The pool was opened and done with leaking water and broken valves, which I had to replace with another company. Gave us another price for cleaning which was told it was included in our price. Then charged us for three hours of cleaning when they were here for one. Additionally I called to discuss and they haven’t called back. This company just keep sending a bill which I paid for opening and one hour but refuse to pay for the three which they didn’t come for. Stay away from JB pools."
"PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS POOL COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. Due to their CARELESS attention and services for our pool, it’s clear that they broke our pool pumps. Prior to hiring this company our pool pumps were working excellent, where we had connected a pool Vacum. After realizing how poorly this company handled We had to hire another company to come and evaluate the issue where they agreed that it is due to the poor quality of service and cheap quality chemicals J. B pools ruined our pool pumps. Chris doesn’t like to face the truth, when you are not on their weekly service routine, you’ll be ignored and double charged, also they’ll make sure to break your pumps so you have no choice but to call them for services. And all of that because they’ve never backwashed the filter right after opening the pool. Every time we’ve tried to call them and explain the mistake they’ve caused, all of their employees and Chris himself will get very defensive and blame us for everything, staying “ It’s all on you”. We totally trusted this company with our pool services but they’ve abused the system. They are harassing us in every possible way to pay them the balance, however we won’t pay them until our pumps are fixed by other hired company and we’ll go from there. It’ll cost us an arm and a leg to replace old pumps. CHRIS HOW CAN YOU LIE ABOUT SOMETHING SIMPLE AND EMBARRASS YOURSELF?? BAD BUSINESS MODEL. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT. STAY AWAY."
"Short Version: Chris is rude, unprofessional, and doesn't care about your business unless you're a full service customer. If you decide to go with him, watch his work like a hawk as he will walk away once he's paid. Long Version: After recommendation, we used them to install our salt system at the end of last season. We were warned Chris has a bad attitude but does good work. Their workers show up unannounced and begin work. The pipe work where the filter is backwards so the words are upside down. When Chris is called, he is annoyed because "it's fine that way" but changes it. The first salt cell is defective and they come back the next day to replace it. The cell fails a leak test at the joint just before it (their workmanship). They inform me they will fix it and two hours later when I get home, the leak test passes. The pool is closed for the winter until this week when I open. When running the pump for the first time, notice the "inspect cell" light is on and the salt values are swaying wildly. Upon opening the cell as per manufacturers recommendation, I notice some PVC shards in the cell and that there is a silicone bead by where the joint meets the cell (splattered on top of the rubber washer that's supposed to seal the joint). Their "fix" of the leaking joint was to hit it with silicone... on a part that is removed every 3 months for cleaning. When we called Chris, he hung up on my wife telling her "you touched it, if you had us open your pool we would have taken care of it". He then stops answering his phone. After finally tracking him down later that day, he informs us he's not going to do anything for us as he "already has his money". There are unkind words back and forth. He then called the person that recommended him to me and badmouths me to them, which both they and I found appalling. There's more, but I think the image is clear enough. In all the reviews I've done, I think this is the first negative one I've written. With so many pool service choices on Long Island, stay away from JB Pools. When the head of the company is rotten, the rest will follow. Chris is about as unprofessional of an owner as you can get and will forgo any responsibility to his workmanship once he has money in hand. If you're a full service customer, you will probably be treated well. You will also never notice the shortcuts made because "it's fine, all the pool guys do it.""
"We used JB Pools and Chris’s team to install our new inground pool this past winter/spring. Chris runs one of the hardest working pool businesses on Long Island. I highly recommend them. The process was smooth, easy for us, and exactly what he said it would be from start to end. In the middle of a material shortage, rush to install pools, and pandemic Chris and his team went above and beyond with the quality and entire process. They are extremely busy but still responsive. They stand behind the work and fixed some very minor issues after the install (small pipe drips). Definitely use them for your pool needs."
"For years I was using this company and each opening things that worked the season before would be broken due to their careless closing. This year though they installed the wrong liner which had a small tear in it. The rip caused water to rise above the liner and when they came to open on May 3 they refused saying I needed to remove the water. We had our landscapers remove the water and take off the cover so the pool could be opened may 20. I confirmed the appointment and yet on may 20th chris and his poorly tun company failed to show up. No call no explanation. I called all day leaving voice messages and no calls were returned. Today a new receptionist apologized and said she’s ask chris what happened- no return call! This has now cost me time and money and loss of use of the pool. This company should not be in business. Chris is nasty and his crew continually break equipment or Musi stall it. People should be aware of the horrible way they treat long standing clients"
