"Visitor center was under construction when we went. They were very few bathrooms. The trails were not well marked, meaning maps showing where the trails went at the trailheads. It was cool that you could listen to audio with a QR code on your phone. Beautiful trails and scenery along the brook. Lots of stones and lots of stair steps. Lots of stair steps!"
"Very beautiful park! It's bigger than it looks on the map. The gorge trail is beautifully filled with waterfalls, bridges, and stone stairs. Lots of people were swimming all along the gorge trail. There is also a natural pool in the front area near the parking lot. There is currently construction building a bath house and life guard station (and a pool?). Would highly recommend this park!"
"Absolutely gorgeous state park! Our first time here at Stony Brook State Park! Came for an overnight date night! Would definitely come here again longer! There is a lot of stairs, must be physically fit to do all the trails! Swimming hole is amazing! There are a lot of private swimming holes also along the creek! This park is a must see!"
"This place is just wonderful! The “Natural Pool” is a great way to cool off after hiking the well-groomed trails, and carved-stone stairs leading up to the waterfalls. The natural pool has lifeguards, multiple depths from 3-12 ft., and the water is constantly flowing through a concrete-reinforced reservoir and multiple stone stairs that descend down into the natural, cool spring fed water. There’s really something healthy about this water, because my joints felt much better and my skin was noticeably softer after spending a while in this pure refreshment! I can’t wait to go back!!"
"Beautiful waterfalls! We did the Ridge trail, which turned out to be about 2 miles. Half of the hike is along the brook with water views and waterfalls - simply gorgeous! And you can swim in the book/waterfall. The other half of the trail is in the wooden area and has lots of stairs up and down. The hike is too short to be truly moderate, but you will feel the stairs. Amazing playground and picnic area on premises."
