"My family retained the Shevy Law firm when my dad died Sept. 2019. Ms. Shevy had the very simple small estate for 19 months and completed nothing. I paid the bills, had checks reissued, disbursed pmts, contacted the attorney who originally wrote the will and other paperwork that she said she would take care of. Communication was non existent. I received a letter in August 2020 from the IRS stating my dads 2019 taxes had not been submitted they were and I had proof. I contacted her office right away I never got a call back until October 2020 and the papers she needed me to sign were not ready until Nov. 24, 2020. There was any number of excuses home schooling, party for child, funeral. If I would reach a paralegal they would say they couldn’t help me and I would wait weeks/months for a call back. In 2021 I fired The Shevy Law firm and hired another attorney who was able to close the estate in a timely manner. Of course by then the market tanked and a significant amount of assets were gone. As if that all wasn’t bad enough she made several errors specifically she indicated that some family members were going to receive funds opened accounts and they were not entitled to anything because of beneficiaries. I know Covid happened but one retains an attorney to properly close out their loved one’s estate. I know she also had a medical condition at this time which I sympathize but I was going through a very aggressive cancer myself. At any time she could have told me she couldn’t handle it and I would have got a new attorney sooner. I requested a full refund and received $980. I had to pay another attorney to do the job Patricia Shevy neglected to do.. she is an incompetent unresponsive attorney and should not be taking money for doing nothing from grieving families. I filed a complaint with the ethics committee but no surprise they did nothing."
"We set up a family trust with Shevy Law and couldn't be happier. Patricia is an expert at family law. They are a very busy firm so patience is required. Telephone is the best way to reach them."
"I have been trying for at least two weeks to get ahold of Patricia who created my fathers will. He passed. I have left several messages and sent e-mail. She called once in that 2 weeks. I called her back within a minute and was told she wasn’t available. I told the secretary that I’m getting pretty ticked off yesterday. Still no call."
"Mrs. Shevy is a very thorough attorney at her job. My wife has sent many people to see her and we haven't had a disappointed person yet. She has created several Wills and has helped us with my mother's estate after her death. Several other friends of ours, Wills and documents for our mother's in-laws future as she ages."
"Patricia Shevy is one of the most professional, knowledgeable attorneys I've ever met. She has helped me with my family's estate planning needs, and assisted several other people I know with matters both simple and complicated. I've worked with dozens of attorneys and virtually none can be described like Tricia: Prompt, efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. She speaks in plain English and writes clear documents, and she knows how to take complex matters and simplify them. Treating her clients fairly by charging reasonable rates is a core value of hers. I would wholeheartedly recommend Tricia to anyone I know who needs help with their will, trusts, business succession or other estate planning needs."
