"The whole closing process was a disaster. Less then 24 hours before our closing we were told what our final check had to be. Being that we are first time home owners, we didn't know the process. I then asked if it had to be a certified or a regular check. Also I was not able to go to the closing because I had just stared working a new job. Adam advised us of getting a POA filled out so my Fiancé can sign for me. After we were told what checks need to be written, I was taken back by how much our closing costs were and asked for a better break down. We didn't get a response until 11am the day of our closing which was at 3pm. I thought that was insane. Then at 12pm we got another email that he couldn't make it to our closing and was sending someone else. At the closing everyone was clueless and thought I was going to be there. If my 4 emails I sent the night before were read and responded to, I clearly stated I wasn't going to be there that's why I was requesting for everything to be explained to me so I know what was going on. Then at the closing was when my fiancé was advised that there is a $300 fee for the POA. How do you not tell anyone that ahead of time?? Small detail forgotten. Also my mortgage broker who has been AMAZING was the one who went out of his way and called me while he was st dinner to try and explain to closing costs to me and also mentioned that the POA had to be reviewed before closing our we may have issues. A lot has happened in the last 24 hours, not for nothing as a first time home buyer this has been the worst experience and mostly because of the lack of communication between us and Adam. I understand we aren't the only clients he has but if the work load can't be handled based off your availability then maybe your clients you take on should be reconfigured. I felt more as just another number in the book instead of an actual client. This should be a very exciting process and it has been until 24 hours ago. With that said closing is official and we move in over the weekend!"
