"The place has variety of delicious food, snacks and drinks. They also have freshly made food dishes that are found at the back of the store where the kitchen is. Each day the dish menus are different so it gives a chance to try new things. They also have tables to sit so you can enjoy them at the Mart than to bring them home to just eat it."
"It was my first time going to this store today, my experience was entirely the worst out of any other Japanese supermarkets that I’ve been to. I tried the fries and they were not hot and crispy. Afterwards, I received the worst customer service from the staff and the manager about getting a refund on the fries or having them exchanged. They didn’t just refused to give me the refund, the manager just kicked me out! Even though, it was my first time coming to the store today. I will never be returning to this store location ever again. I would like to say is customer service is important. If you want more customers to be happy, then bring a much better service towards the customer. Listen to their complaints and make the hot food staying hot and fresh. Nobody likes cold food after it’s been standing under the hot lamps."
"While I’ve not been a regular customer of sunrise mart for too long, I’ve bought many things here over the years. The other day I stopped in to buy some vinegar because I was making sushi. I spent $20 on rice vinegar, and after paying I asked for a bag. The cashier informed me it would be 10 cents for a bag, I told her I didn’t have any cash so could she please charge it on my credit card. She refused and gave me a produce bag with no handles. I told her I needed a bag with handles but she looked at me like I had eyes on the top of my head. I asked her again can I please have a bag with handles and she said no it’s 10 cents, so I told her fine, I want to return the vinegar, can you please just void the transaction then (at this point I was having buyers remorse). She gave me a bag and a look of disgust and I went on my way. Sunrise mart, why are you shaking down your customers for 10 cents when they have just spent $20? I was coming here often to get my sushi making needs, however there’s way too many Japanese markets in the city with much better customer service to continue to support this place. You lost a regular customer over 10 cents sunrise mart; was it worth it?"
"As always sunrise mart has mostly what we want and delicious obento."
"Great place for a takeout lunch! They had a lot of bento box and bowl options, like teriyaki chicken/salmon to karaage to tofu to unagi. For some reason, only some of their ready to go meals were warm. I tried the unagi don, and it was exactly what I wanted: sweet eel sauce, tender eel, and white rice. I will be back to try more things in the future!!"
