"We are staying at the Vanderbilt hotel near the Roosevelt Field mall while visiting family in the area. This is primarily a residential property, but the building has 18 hotel rooms within the site, which is a neat little twist. The rooms are beautiful, the amenities are great, and the property even has a restaurant on site. While it's not your typical hotel, we are very comfortable in the room and will definitely be staying here again next time we visit the area. Highly recommended!"
"The documentation required to fill in at checkout is unbelievable. It's like your joining the CIA. The check in girl walked me down hall to show me where room was, leaving others waiting on line as she was the only one there. Night one was fine, but on Friday, Saturday whoever was on the 2nd floor sounded like they were running track around 1030p. I called no answer at front desk. Upon checkout I mentioned this, only to be told she was on duty but got no phone call. I mentioned check in Stepping away from the desk but got no where. Rooms are nice, but alot of hassles and unnecessary paperwork"
"My recent stay at the Hotel The Vanderbilt was an experience of highs and lows. On one hand, I appreciate that the venue accommodates both apartments and hotel rooms, making it a unique blend where you can mingle with locals at the bar. During our business trip, we lodged at the hotel section and found our room to be impressively spacious, modern, and impeccably clean. The comfort level was top-notch. Additionally, the pool area was quite expansive, with ample chairs and umbrellas to accommodate guests. However, a design flaw quickly became evident. The pool is essentially cocooned by the hotel and apartments, which means it loses sunlight by approximately 4:30pm. As someone who cherishes evening sunbathing, this was a major letdown. My primary grievance, though, revolves around a concerning incident at check-in. As part of their protocol, they took a photocopy of my wife's driver's license. Having been a victim of identity fraud in the past, I felt it necessary to inquire about how the hotel manages the retention and eventual destruction of such personal documents. The initial reaction of the clerk was unsettling, as she seemed unprepared to address my concerns. Things took a further downward turn when the manager, Jake, was brought into the conversation. Rather than reassuring me about their safety protocols, he mentioned that other hotels he's visited did the same, which felt dismissive. When probed about the storage location of these copies, his vague response about it being "locked up in the back" was far from convincing. To add insult to injury, at checkout, our request for the return of the driver's license copy further exposed their casual approach to data protection. The clerk fished it out from a drawer at his desk, revealing other visible copies of guest IDs. This was in stark contrast to Jake's earlier claim that such documents were securely stowed in the back. While the hotel has commendable aspects in terms of comfort and aesthetics, their cavalier attitude towards data protection is a massive red flag. Sadly, it's the sole reason for this 2-star rating."
"If you are looking for an elegant and comfortable hotel in Nassau County, this is it! Super clean, lovely decor, great restaurant and bar. Staff are wonderful. EV chargers too! I travel to the Island weekly for work and actually look forward to my stay here."
"My wife and I had our wedding reception at Juniper, the restaurant inside the Vanderbilt, so we booked a hotel suite for our wedding night. We tried to check in really early at 12pm but we knew it was a long shot. However they were very accommodating and gave me a phone call as soon as the room was ready about 1.5 hours before normal check in time to let me know we could check in. The room is well appointed, with high ceilings, and was very nice and roomy and CLEAN. There is bottled water ready for you and in the fridge as well. It was quiet and we had a great night of sleep on the large, comfy bed. We have absolutely no complaints and would highly recommend staying here!"
