"The location is convenient to Hofstra. Unfortunately, the hotel needs some remodeling. The first room we were assigned smelled like smoke. They changed us to a different room. The new room was extremely hot, not being able to put the air conditioning on. I called the front desk, and the response was to turn off the heater and open the windows. We did that, but with the noise outside, it was hard to sleep. There was no hot water to take a shower. Beds are in bad shape, and pillows are even worse. The location is good, but nothing else."
"I recently had a fire in my home and we are at this hotel for a few days while things get settled with the insurance company. Overall, I am pleased with the warm welcome upon arrival. I am remote IT and their “engineers” are not very savvy, but I was able to figure out a solution. I pressed 0 from my room, and I think I spoke to someone that worked outside of the hotel because according to them they didn’t have a business center any longer; but they did - I came down to the front desk and was educated where to find the business center. The hotel is very accommodating, breakfast is overwhelming with the 5 star service - in my current situation, I could just think of making breakfast in my home, but the warm feelings I got this morning made me feel at home in a sense. Everyone is very friendly, the bartender is awesome, front desk has been super, and my room is cozy! Thank you all for your help - regards Christian"
"It's sad to see what was once a first class hotel becoming far less. The room was fairly clean though in dire need of updating. The faucets in the bathroom leaked, there were stains on the wallpaper, the grout in the shower was stained. You could only set the temperature between 72 and 68. The mini-fridge made quite a bit of noise. The breakfast was a far cry from the past, though the restaurant staff were all very accommodating and friendly. I wasn't told upon check-in that it was necessary to ask to have my room cleaned."
"I only stayed at this location for one night and found the price to be a bit high for what you're getting. The most memorable issue was the shower switching to 100% cold water at random times. The overall impression of the hotel was that the rooms need to be renovated. The main lobby looks nice but the rooms are a bit dingy, especially the bathrooms. My hotel room's door slammed very loudly making me feel bad for the other guests. I didn't interact with the staff much but did notice one employee at the front desk paying more attention to his cell phone than me. The location was very convenient, the price was okay, and the rooms need work."
"OK room but could have been a little cleaner. I got the impression that they did not clean or vacuum the carpet for some time. Walking barefoot resulted in my feet getting black on the bottom and feeling there were crumbs and dirt/pebbles in the carpet. It was nice to have automatic housekeeping services over the weekend since so many other hotels only offer housekeeping services upon request."
