Allegheny River Campground

"Very nice campground with friendly staff. They have a large field that you can go to, to see the stars at night. The biggest downside is their terrible refund policy, they offer no refunds regardless of when you cancel so you assume a huge risk when you book here. As more and more people enter the camping scene you must make your reservations well in advance in order to secure a campsite. They also charge you to use your credit card/debit card at their store. Also, the first campground where you are charged to play mini golf, on another note....the mini golf course is well maintained. REFUND POLICY: No refunds whatsoever, we camped there during the 2023 Memorial Day weekend so we had to pay everything up front and hope that nothing happened that would prevent us from showing up. CAMP STORE: Good size, serves ice cream, but they charge to use your Credit card/debit card PLAYGROUND: Very nice and they have a splash pad BATHROOMS: Glorified heated and cooled Porta potty but are kept clean and get the job done. ACTIVITES NEAR BY: A lot, too much to list. SITE SIZE: Backing in can be difficult and may require other campers to move their tow vehicles to get into ta spot but the sites them selves are large. AMENITIES: Pool, splash pad, pet stations, campground activities, paid mini golf, mining, kids ride on train, and river to fish from."

"It was pricey for tent camping but I understand why. A very convenient set up for kids to have fun. My two loved fishing, tubing, the mini train and gold sleuthing, as well as time spent at the two playgrounds, pool and splash pad. Didn't bring the dogs but it was nice we could have, nice dog park and amenities for waste disposal. Fellow campers were really cool and invited us to play kickball, 20 or 25 people played, the kids had a blast. A well kept campground with professional staff and plenty to do."

"This beautiful campground is perfectly placed among a number of family friendly activities and breathtaking state parks. The campground boasted the natural beauty of the region with surrounding mountains, the cool and clear Allegheny River passing through, and beautiful green grass and trees. The beauty continues through the night with an incredible view of the stars not seen in cities and suburbs filled with lights. Everything was very clean and well- kept, owners were available, service was top-notch. The pool was very nice and clean, and the splash pad was so much fun! We played a quick round of mini golf and enjoyed the playgrounds too. During our stay, we ventured to Elk Country, Kinzua Bridge, Gary’s Golf, The Lumber Museum, The Ice Mine, and Cherry Springs State Park. I can’t think of a thing I’d change about our trip- except for maybe extending it!"

"This campground had everything we needed. A pool and playground for the younger kids. Dog park for the pup. River fun and close to great hiking for the teenagers. Cleanest campground I have ever been to. We did the primitive tent camping. I already miss waking up and having my coffee by the river."

"This is our new favorite campground. The facility is very well maintained and clean. Our kids loved it. They swam, used the splash pad and tubed all day. They utilized the parks, rail pups, and Gaga ball frequently. It is great for families. I highly recommend! We camped in a travel trailer and have no complaints about the sites."
