Reviews of Dansville Inn
"Place is disgusting. There was a bloody maxipad in garbage."
"Cheap, ended up here because the place across town was closed due to fire damage. Stunk of cigarette (the bedding), stained and filthy mattress topper and what looked like barf down the side of the bed, keep driving and don't give it a chance. Can't express how bad this was."
"Business must be good. I tried to reserve a room and the number I called, went right to voice-mail. Not even trying to call for a room there again."
"Called and made a reservation for the same night, arriving in 2 hours. Showed up almost exactly those 2 hours later and no one was around, nor would anyone answer via the bell (as posted on the sign) or the telephone. A gentleman who I saw there said they aren't around after 11 (it was 11:20). Wish they would have told me that on the phone. Went to the Logan Inn instead; same price, better facilities anyway (pool and gym included)."
"I decided to stay at the Dansville Inn for a family reunion because the Sunshine Motel in Hornell was booked. I was only going for a place to sleep & take a shower, so I THOUGHT it wouldn't matter. First...NO internet, although it is on their website. This is how I got my refund. Second...no coffee maker (I brought my own), and after staying one night, I probably wouldn't wanna have used it anyway. NO towels! I went to ask in the morning & was greeted by a note on the door "Be Back At 10:30." which is check-out time BTW. We checked in at 12:40am (with a previous head's up we'd be late) after ringing the bell several times, no answer, and finally calling and allowing the phone to continue to ring. The bed was hard, springs sticking out into our backs, and way too small for two people & the sheets and blankets old, worn & barely fit. My hips & back ached, which I have only experienced once before when I had to sleep on the ground while camping. The room was dirty & ugly/tacky (see photos). I can deal with ugly, but....good lord! The curtain was old and barely kept out the light. I had to use my hair clip to keep it together. The screens were ripped & probably not secure. It appeared as though someone may have broken in at one time. No chain locks on the interior & wouldn't be difficult to break the door in. The bathroom was fairly clean, but the floor near the shower obviously had water damage because it sunk when you went close to the shower. The mirror hadn't been cleaned, tho...because you could see someone's smear print. I left the word "redrum" on for the next person to see after their shower. ;) I had to have my boyfriend turn the shower on after several minutes of trying. Something was stripped. He was unable to open the shower door & had to call me to come get him out. This was after I did finally get a minimum of towels after calling the owner (who claimed to be an employee, but admitted to living there) back to the office. I would never stay there ever again...not for the night (I'd sleep in my car), not for a sleazy affair...and certainly not even if I were some kind of drug addict... I am surprised it's legal to be open. Stay at Logan's Inn (who kindly gave us an early check-in) or the Sunshine Motel. Stay away from this place. (If they ever do a reality show to fix up a motel...this one would be it!)"
