"Look elsewhere. Took 2 months to get an appointment, after a check up there was no follow up appointment, so they expect me to wait another 2 months? Also the front desk staff wont even pick up the phone sometimes"
"I would give it O stars if allowed. This practice has deteriorated significantly which is so sad. Dr. Mamias is a good doctor but she always sends you to over 20 doctors for tons of "rule outs." Often the other MDs I go to for follow ups based on her recommendations often say, 'well why did she recommend this follow up?!" That's never a good sign if they are equally confused and asking the patient for medical clarity. The patient portal is NEVER updated with lab work so you wonder why you even bothered to have labs drawn. The medical assistant, Gabriella Gamonski is the most unprofessional staff member. She appears annoyed answering questions and never follows up. Also, they charged me a $25 co-pay in error and when I tried to get it resolved several times by reaching out, I received NO responses from the practice. Then I get a letter from collections despite my diligent follow up. Go someplace else. This practice does not care about you or your well being. It's truly unfortunate."
"May 27th, 2023 RE: New York Presbyterian Hospital To Whom it may concern: On May 26th, 2023, at about 3:20pm I accompanied my friend (whose name I will omit due to HIPPA violations), to resolve some medical issues. On this day, I advised her to contact her PCP (Primary Care Physician) to make an urgent appointment to be seen as she has medical issues that need prompt evaluations and referrals, but not on an emergent basis that requires prompt medical attention as to go to the Emergency Room. My friend told me with great anxiety and distress, that she has been trying to make an appointment with her PCP for the past three weeks with no success as her front desk staff keeps deviating the calls and not calling her back to make appointments. After I convinced her to call, and she was on speakerphone during the entire conversation, NYP’s Dr. Mammals staff treated her with such disrespect and lack of professionalism that they kept on hanging up the phone on her while she was trying to make an appointment and get her point across as of the need of urgency, while the staff kept on telling her that the next available appointment is in the next 4 months or so, amongst we overheard the staff mocking and laughing at my friend. My friend was trying to let them know that this was unacceptable as she has been trying to make an appointment for the past 3 months and she needs to see her Primary Care Physician urgently. A member of her staff, particularly Christine Forrester, called my friend “low class”, and other names that I won’t mention here, kept on hanging up the phone and yelling over the phone. I told my friend that we still had time to go directly to the office located at 44-04 Francis Lewis Blvd., Bayside, N.Y. 11361, and speak directly to a manager about this issue. To our surprise, as soon as we arrived at the office, about 3:40pm, the first thing I did was to ask who Christine was and demanded to get her last name. She reacted in an aggressive manner, claiming that she is “Not required to do so”. After asking to speak with the manager, whose name is Zdenka Peros, we demanded to talk to her in private. With much hesitation, she directed us to a room in the back. Even before I was trying to talk to her, the first thing that she said to me loudly and in a very hostile manner was: “I am not going for you to allow me to record me on the phone.” I said back to her that was not even my intention and I asked her why she had to be so hostile. As my friend began talking to the manager and, to my surprise, I found out that this was not the first time that my friend had the same issues with the staff in this office. She has been dealing with this for the past year, but because my friend has so many medical issues, which I won’t disclose due to HIPPA violations, she decided to withhold further formal complaints and/or even filing a lawsuit about this, before reporting the same issue to the same manager, whose clearly did not do anything to solve it. Just a little background about my friend, she has been having many medical problems. Her anxiety and depression levels are over the top. She feels that no one is helping her, especially her PCP due to lack of support. As my friend stated, all she wants is for her physician to see her as she feels that her health is deteriorating, and her pain level has increased over the months. All she wants to know is what is happening to her health and what further actions to take. My friend also feels that the front desk staff, and now the manager, is retaliating against her because of the former direct complaint to the manager, increasing her anxiety levels."
"This practice has really gone downhill. Used them for years but now am looking elsewhere. On my last visit doctor christopher georgiou didn’t even look at me when entering the exam room. He proceeded to stare at a computer screen and speak about me to the physicians assistant as if I wasn’t in the room. Not sure if this is treatment he reserves for female patients or for everyone. The physicians assistant was sweet and professional and the only reason I didn’t walk out of the appointment. I’m surprised they are hiring new doctors who show such a clear lack of respect for patients. I’ve been to this practice for years and yet kept being referred to as a new patient. I had to tell the doctor he should read my chart before examining me. Left feeling disgusted."
"This is the absolute WORST office I have ever encountered in my life. The staff is disgusting and rude. I work in health care myself for so many years and every time I go here or get on the phone with someone at this office I want to rip my hair out because they don’t know the first thing that has to do with patient care. First of all, getting an appointment here? You have to wait 2 months maybe even more. And before if you were sick (a year ago) they would get the on call doctor to see you in person. Now? They say they’re going to send a message and a physician will decide if they want to see if you because it’s office policy that if you’re feeling sick you can’t come in, you need to do a virtual appointment. How can a doctor diagnose someone over virtual appointment? One of their stupid doctors diagnosed me with arthritis… when I had covid last year… this practice does not care about you and I should have left when my whole family did. It’s so sad how horrible the health care system is, and how disgusting this office is."
