Reviews of Little Guyana Market
"Do not shop here. Absolutely abhorrent behavior towards the elderly. Witnessed an old man declined to be serviced at the register because the cashier did not recognize his credit card, despite it being a normal mastercard. Claimed they are not in charge and cannot help. I suppose they would rather these seniors starve than spend the few dollars they have. Disgusting behavior. They should be ashamed of themselves."
"I’m reviewing this store as a person of color (black) As soon as I entered this store I started shopping as any usual costumer would do,As I’m picking up what I need I’m starting to be followed around the store and watched closely, later on I needed to use the bathroom which they refused after I’ve seen many others use the bathroom well people within their race (Indian) keep in mind I’ve already spent $240 as a usual costumer there I expected them to be a little nice which they weren’t this is beyond me and very disrespectful never coming back to this place ever.trash costumer service and no respect for people that are “different” Me and my family have been purchasing goods and this place since I can remember meaning we’ve spent over $2000 at most..very shocked to receive this kind of treatment!"
"Despite being in America collecting US dollars “Little Guyana market” runs on their own time. The website says closes at 10pm but they actually close at 9:30pm, while I was inquiring about the time they turned the lights off. People were still in the store shopping. Just a heads up, they close at 9:30pm and when you do show up they act very unprofessional."
"Little Guyana is known for its main location in Richmond Hill ( Also considered Jamaica Queens) - today this location is probably the 3rd location within the vicinity of 5-7 miles . The original can be found in Richmond Hill, Queens ( also known as Little Guyana) . Guyanese food items/cuisine carry a vast cultural makeup of items . This is primarily due to the (5) major ethnicities that make up this country. This little Guyana location does have the popular bakery within the market it's known for ( this is how it actually started over at the flagship location . Solely bakery with a few items. The smell of the bread and all the other delicious items being baked at the location would cause an array of delicious smells plastering the air as you walked by . The market is well stocked and organized not only with items that are guyanese items but your common areas or grocery items and fresh fruits and vegetables. The cashiers are always both very nice and pleasant. The female behind the bakery counter is usually the same (at least when I stop by ) - pleasant and will tell you what these bakery items are if you're not familiar ."
"I've recently popped in this location after many months and WOW, the renovations are great! The store is fully stocked, clean and the meats and bakery are in separate areas which is great,- for vegetarians and those who are mindful of how their foods are prepared and kept. I'm yet to shop where the meats are, but the bakery items are fresh, tasty and readily available. Staff are all friendly and very attentive!"
