"It’s convenient if you need to grab quick groceries. However please check the expiration date of any product you purchase from this establishment. They love to sell expired food. Be extra careful with bread, it’s always expired or within a couple of days of expiration. They need to do an audit, or the health department should really pay them a visit."
"A good grocery store for the daily and weekly shopping. Well-stocked and spacious to get a large cart around in. Has a parking lot which is nice."
"Met Foods is a neighborhood staple. You can't go wrong. THE best and biggest fresh garlic in town! All of the individual departments are great and most of the cashiers are very sweet and helpful. I find almost everything I need here. Deli is good - I like my cold cuts sliced medium, not thin - they always do it right. The rolls are great. The Catania Italian bread is worth the trip alone. They always have Wise brand chips - which is a must in my house! Parking on site and fantastic produce (especially the tomatoes). They also deliver - which is great for my elderly Mom. If I had to nit-pick, I would say to add shopping carts to the front of the store (not just the back or behind the registers) because it woud be more convenient than where they keep them now. And they should offer reusable bags at a lower price. But neither of these is a deterrent! Support your local establishments. It's what keeps a neighborhood, a neighborhood!"
"Yesterday it was price bait and switch. I called it out at the register rang at 12.99 at shelf item was listed at 8.99. Now I am told I need to match up bar code on product to determine the price? That wrong! Today I shop for soup ordinary progresso soup imagine a can goes for $4.74! This store and it's evil sister across the street must surely be the leading price gougers in Queens. Bought hamburger at Village Barn and it was grey when I got home. A neighbor informed me that after a few days they pull old hamburger meat and remix it with fresh meat, uggh. I bought an Italian bread and got it home to fix a sandwich it was day old. Don't support those that disrespect the neighborhood"
"Updated: I have been going to the Met and Silver Barn since their inception. Both have the same owners, not bad people. However the Met is actively managed by the same lousy Manager who does no wrong. But today I encountered once again the same price scams that the Manager has never admitted fault to. Today it was a package of Lasagna listed at $8.99 on the shelf and same description/brand on the packaging. It rang up as $12.99 and I informed the cashier. She ran back somewhere probably to discuss with the same lousy manager what to do. Nothing, it's $12.99 despite the price at the shelf listed at $8.99. I should have called up NYS about this since this store has a history of covering up this type price labeling and blaming the customer. Thus I didn't buy it. I will never forget when I found Filet Mignon steaks here for .04 cents, I bought 3 and they rang up as .04 cents. Now that was payback! So the customer is never right at this establishment and lousy managers are losing money for the owners. Most people I know shop here and have similar stories. Merry Christmas shoppers!"
