"Gristedes is great for mainstream food. Standard things like bread, mainstream cheeses, various kinds of mainstream meats, and preserves meats, various mainstream pastries. Gristedes might not always be the cheapest place, but it's not super expensive either, and there's rarely much of a line I find. Lots of fresh vegetables, frozen food, decent sized deli section, with prepared fresh meals. One thing I would like to see would be more foods with the calories information provided. Some of the prepared meals have this information, but many of them do not, and many of the delicious pastries, cakes and breads also do not."

"POC shoppers beware. You will be profiled in this store. Came looking for dessert at around 8:00PM only because breads bakery and citerella were closed. I found two men watching me as I perused the frozen food aisle. I had an event to go to so I couldn’t raise a stink at the moment but I’d be remiss to not let potential shoppers know what could befall them spending their money here."

"The place is big and kind of like a maze, which I like. Everything is actually super easy to find if you just give a quick look! A lot of variety in vegan and regular foods! The lady at the register that was there when I went was really sweet too"

"Always a bad service with the cashiers, slow, with a bad attitude, rude, and only one cashier the most of the time, the manager is a good person but his employees (cashiers) are not. Not that problem in other Gristedes."
