Animal Hospital of Elmont

"On December 1, 2023, I brought my dog to Elmont Animal Hospital in a state of urgent need. Unfortunately, my experience was deeply disappointing. Despite my dog's obvious distress, the veterinarian showed little concern and seemed more focused on paperwork than providing care. He barely examined my pet and dismissed my pleas for help without even attempting to offer assistance. As a result, I was forced to seek help elsewhere, and tragically, my dog did not survive. If the veterinarian had shown even a fraction of the compassion and attentiveness required in such situations, my beloved pet might still be alive today. I cannot in good conscience recommend this establishment to anyone seeking compassionate and competent veterinary care."

"This was the worst experience I’ve had with a vet. My dog was bitten by another dog and we rushed him to the closest hospital. The vet that saw my dog refused to touch my dog or begin stitches until he was paid even though he saw our dog bleeding out all over the waiting room. He even told us he was loosing too much blood but he stood up right there and waited for us to put our card in before he began. The nurses looked like they were afraid of this vet. This location was also very unsafe. Before visiting here my dog never had fleas , he came back home with so many fleas after spending a few hours at this hospital. The vet that saw my dog didn’t clean up the blood from the wounded area either.. our dog got stitches but still had all the dried up blood around it. We were so scared about him getting an infection. I’m not sure if there are multiple vets at this location but the one I’m speaking of was an older Indian man. I will never take my dog here again."

"The doctor is a small man who acts like a small man. I know women are more educated but his staff is made of little women (18-23) who he will try to gaslight and manipulate into thinking they are to sign a paper in order to receive their last pay checks that had been due to them for 2 weeks and 48 hours ago. He doesn’t respect young couples esp and is quick to talk poorly about them behind their back literally as soon as the door shuts behind them as they left. He “kindly” let them leave without paying an exam fee but nothing was done during the exam expect for pushing info on them and pushing numbers and giving less than satisfactory exchange. The customer left so angry and I totally understood because the attitude didn’t come from them as the manager tried to proclaim after they left because when I spoke to them they didn’t have an attitude with me and I’m not a doctor. It was obvious they weren’t being spoken to with respect and they knew for sure when engaged in simple conversation with me."

"It’s not easy finding a local animal hospital providing a very cozy intimate environment and a wealth of experience. Oh how we love our animals. I had to leave her and let God. THANK YOU to her experienced doctor and the wonderful team who took the time to answer my questions honestly and provided the best care for her. They know she always makes a grand entrance and can be a handful but not once do they make me feel she doesn’t belong there. Just don’t be too late. My fur baby is recovering and nestled right beside me. To God Be The Glory."

"They were one of the many places I went to for care for my cat and they offered the best care and answered all my questions. The doctor and his staff took great care of my kitty. I am so grateful that I found this place. He underwent a major surgery and is now back on the mend"
