Reviews of Bellerose Animal Hospital
"Please avoid at all costs--trust me, go to the other vet, or wait a day for an appointment if it is not a dire emergency. I have previously written a review, yet desperation and proximity made me visit Bellerose again. They were able to accommodate me last minute which I was grateful for in the moment. My cat was diagnosed with irritable bowel disease and had suddenly lost his appetite and stopped drinking water. Immediately Dr. Taddeo stated that we had to "admit" him so that he could get IV fluid--I asked if he could just get fluid for the day and they kept on saying that he was "very very sick," even though he stayed overnight without anyone watching him. Instead of treating him with antibiotics or considering his past condition, they proceeded to say that we needed a lot of tests, an x-ray and sonogram. I asked if we could do one first and then decide on the rest and they convinced me that we needed to all the tests possible at once (which didn't indicate anything). They told me we should do a leukemia test just in case and I said he had the vaccine, the next morning he had a high fever and they pushed me to do one which of course came back negative. He woke up with hints of jaundice and a high fever under their care. They told me he needed a feeding tube because he wasn't eating. By now, you get the gist of it. Instead of treating they prefer to push tests on you, to freak you out and to charge a lot of money. I've had this experience before but I thought they would consider how sick my cat was and try their best to treat him with the bare minimum instead of putting him through tests from the start. I even had to ask them to give him antibiotics since he had a high fever, which they did not consider doing before. After consulting with a friend who is a Vet in another state, I took him out of there. After expressing my concern that they were asking for unnecessary tests, they told me to never bring my cat back there again. I most definitely won't. I left without an extra dose of the appetite stimulant and with them refusing to give me prescription food because he wasn't eating. I was lucky to find another vet that was so kind and understanding and prioritized immediate treatment. They also made me feel like my concerns about their money-making approach were valid. My baby is now home with me on even stronger antibiotics and prescription food he is slowly eating.Though I spent over $2,000 just at Bellerose, he is not even close to being better."
"Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Often the people who pick up the phones are quite rude and short. It feels like they’re trying to push you off the phone or get you to spend money, or think you’re silly for being concerned about your let. You could call with a serious concern and they won’t even hear you out unless you spend money at their establishment first. I’m satisfied with their medical service so far, but if their customer service continues to be this horrible, then I’d rather take my pet somewhere else. They charge too much for me to deal with a vet tech who sounds miserable and takes it out on the customer."
"My cat got really sick and I was looking for a good animal hospital I could take him. My cat never gets sick so In the past 10 years I probably took him to the vet 2 times. He’s really good at taking care of himself. Taking my cat to this animal hospital was a mistake. They will give you one test and will keep on trying to add tests to get you to spend over a grand. They do not care about your animal. I get everything is about money but a life should be more important. My advice is do not walk into this place thinking they care they don’t. Be careful with your heavy heart depending on what is going on with your animal. The number one thing I look for is care and getting the help needed. The thing I got out of this place was finding out what was going on with my cat. Thanks to god he’s okay. They have x-ray machines and equipment, but the people who work are not good people and how they run their business. I take a good heart than having standard equipment which you can get doctor facility. I contacted Better Business bureau. I want other animals to be okay just like mine. Not a lot of people look out for animals. My animals mean everything to me so I do not tolerate it. Take from this review however it can help you. If you need to find out for yourself I understand. Am trying to save your and your animals we being and some money. Reach out to me if you have further questions about my experience going to this place."
"I am a new fur mommy and I am so glad I chose Bellerose Animal Hospital to take my fur baby to. From the initial call I made, I got a good vibe from the practice. The facility is clean, intimate and the staff is amazing! My little Copper was anxious and the staff loved on him and took such care with examining him- gentle, thorough and explained what was happening and what to look out for. Dr. Dejoie has the patience of a saint, because I came with a battery of questions and she explained everything with a smile. I highly suggest this practice for anyone, especially first time pet parents who want to ensure their fur baby is treated with care, love and compassion. Thanks Bellerose Animal Hospital!"
