Reviews of VCA Animal Hospitals
"The Westbury VCA has been nothing short of amazing. My baby, Draco, was seen here from May 2023 for his surgery until his euthanization in January 2024… every person we’ve interacted with at this facility has been so kind, understanding, and knowledgeable. Special shoutout to Dr. Galati, Dr. Stern, and the front desk staff - it’s so wonderful knowing that the people who work here genuinely care for every pet that comes through their doors. I really appreciate everyone always calling us back and answering all our questions (no matter how silly they may have seemed) whenever we had concerns about Draco. They also were very supportive when it was time for us to say goodbye to him. The picture attached is of Draco at his first follow up appointment after his surgery. I can’t thank this team enough for all they’ve done to help our little baby."
"We brought our cat Chewy to VCA Westbury for an emergency visit on Monday, Jan 22nd. This is his regular vet now since they treated him successfully for small cell lymphoma a year ago. They took him in right away and began examining him. After the initial exam they wanted to do blood work to see if he was dehydrated because he had been vomiting a lot and not eating warranting this emergency visit. I had to leave for a dr appt of my own, so we left Chewy with them to do the blood work and give him fluids which he ended up needing. When we came back a couple of hours later he was all set set to be discharged. They had also given him a steroid injection. He was prescribed an appetite stimulator and anti nausea meds to use as needed. We gave him those when we got home. I really like this place. They are expensive, but they leave no stone unturned. My little guy is 16, and after the nurse Michael called him ancient, ( we had to laugh), ;) he said he is doing very well. Now it's Thursday. He has been eating and NOT vomiting without the meds, and he is pretty much back to his old self. Dr. Galiti and the rest of the staff at VCA Westbury are wonderful. I would recommend them to anyone, especially if you need a specialty vet. Prepare yourself for the high price tag. But for me, it's worth it."
"I was referred to this hospital by my regular vet for an amputation & cancer care. I did not feel that they were out to get money or overcharging like others stated. I found their prices to be fair and reasonably close to what my regular veterinarian care cost. In fact they recommended ways or things that were optional to help reduce costs. However, if you're going there in the middle of the night for an emergency, you're going to have to pay extra for the convenience of having tests or things done in the middle of the night. Just like if you go to the emergency room versus your regular doctor. If I go to my regular doctor I pay a $40 copay If I go to the emergency room I'll pay $150 copay. Also, they use text messaging which was more convenient with my work schedule and work environment to communicate and keep me updated. The staff is friendly, helpful, and caring. I would recommend it not only for emergency care but if your dog requires imaging such as CT scans and sonograms."
"I have said it before and will say it again. This place is absolutely amazing! They are super thorough and have saved two of my dogs' lives when we had emergencies. The quality of care is amazing and the vets are absolutely knowledgeable detectives who have yet to fail finding what is wrong with my pups when we have had to take them. My first pup got into everything and had many incidents in the backyard and at walks... Again and again the vets knew how to help him. My other pup is an expert at eating everything she finds within a millisecond... the vets are just a call away to honestly tell us if we need to rush her in...and when we did have to rush her, the service was absolutely great yet again."
"It's never a good thing when you need to take your fur baby to see a specialist, but the doctors and staff at VCA do everything in their power to provide high quality care with kindness and sensitivity. I hope that you will never need their services, but if you do you can rely on the knowledge that they will provide great care... The photo is of my girl resting comfortably at home, 15 hours after her liver biopsy..."
