"Dr Wendy Weinstein is the first prescriber out of many to actually know how to medicate me. I've been working with her for going on 2 years now(2024) and she is wonderful. If she disagrees with something I suggest, she always explains it in a way that I understand and I know that if I need clarification on any decision she makes, she will give it to me. When I first came to her in Brylin, she didn't invalidate me when I asked about ECT, and when I went to her a few months later in outpatient finally decided on ECT after a few medication adjustments, she agreed and did not try to force me to continue to try medication adjustments. One of the perks about having her as my psychiatrist is that if/when I need to be hospitalized, I can coordinate with her so that I can continue being under her care while at Brylin hospital. She is overall a delightful psychiatrist who I wholeheartedly trust with my medications, which is a lot for me to say because a psychiatrist almost killed me with meds once."

"Staff is downright rude!!! Took my son to his second appointment today after being diagnosed with a mental illness. I did not take him to his first appointment his father did, and when I took him today I was 15 minutes late as I got lost, (i drove 1.25 hours) and I was told to leave. My son is 19 so they won’t talk to me. He’s been calling and it takes him forever to call him back. He wants help. They won’t help until he comes in for his appointment but yet he was turned away today now he has to wait an entire another month. I will encourage my son to never go back. I had a feeling after I saw all the reviews I’m not surprised."

"Worst experience. I saw her for over a year. I started having a bad reaction to one of the meds she put me on and she refused to see me earlier or change the medication. I started to feel worse and spiral. I called crying asking if I could come in sooner and they said they had an opening that day. I was relieved and when I got there, they told me she decided to terminate me because I must have been exaggerating about the side effects being so bad. I begged them to let me just speak with her and hopefully straighten things out but they said absolutely not. She actually walked by when I was crying to her receptionist and caught my eye but she immediately looked away and went into her office and closed the door. Didn’t even provide a bridge script so luckily my primary doctor was able to provide some help however even he was confused about why I was on such weird and high doses of off label meds. Do not recommend. Really set me back. I also heard rumors that she is known in the medical community to be a mess personally. I can believe that."

"Dr. Shirley is a wonderful woman who has helped me immensely. Very thankful for the work done in this office. My life has done a complete turnaround and much of it is owed to her. The receptionist is always very polite and smiling and kind. I am so happy to have found Dr. W.’s office and find all the women that work in the office extremely compassionate and caring."

"I have to jump in on behalf of Dr Weinstein. Tonight I recommend you to a very good friend and was very disappointed to see the untrue comments posted publicly. Dr Weinstein is nothing less than a competent psychiatrist. Being a true business woman you're right about her not having time or I would presume the energy to listen to the problems that you have but that's what our counselors are for right? Dr. Weinstein is trained in the study behavioral patterns just as an example. She's not being paid to listen to or care about your homelife. I'm not a psychiatrist but I would think getting involved with people's personal problems would be way too draining not to mention irreverent. That would not increase her ability to preform effectively. Before Dr Weinstein I was shuffled around and put on several medications that are prescribed to the majority of the general public. Like I said... shuffled through.... I was a mess to say the least. It wasn't until Dr Weinstein that I was prescribed a regimen personalized just for me. Yeah it might takes a couple of sessions depending but everyone knows thats part of the process. Once she had it, she had it correct, and that's the first time in probably 20 years someone finally had it right. I mean she's perfectly capable of getting the information necessary to make an accurate diagnosis in the time allotted, being 5 minutes or 15 minutes. She's that good. Several awards of achievement on her wall are a true testament to the undeniable competence this Doctor holds. And uncaring?? When my insurance was changed to an insurance that she didn't accept.... well Dr Weinstein was so kind to take me without pay. True statement. I'm sad to say that because of MY own personal fault of being late, I was discharged... IN A Professional Manner. I regret not taking her time more seriously but I accept responsibility...My very own fault, not hers. On a good note, since then, guessing about 5 years ago, I've been continued with the same medication regiment originally ordered by Dr. Weinstein with every psychiatrist thus far. That being said I can't see where it can be said that she overprescribes? Take responsibility for your own actions. I would like to end with saying a very big THANK YOU to Dr. Weinstein for all your good work and I am more than comfortable recommending my good friend to you. Thank you Again"
