"Such a cool trail over and beneath these waterfalls. Steep metal staircase down and up but I saw people doing it in flip flops so it can be done. It was a little challenging for the dog to get footing on the stairs."
"Indian ladder trail was gorgeous. Definitely recommend for the views and waterfalls. Very easy trail to do. Can be a bit slippery and muddy which can add difficulty. Dog friendly! Just has to be leashed. Decently busy too so will see other people. The waterfalls are gorgeous and rock formations. There are stairs and one big flight of them so elderly may have trouble or people with stair problems."
"The Indian Ladder Trail is the Albany area's best hike! The views from the top of escarpment are phenomenal. The trail has well built staircases and rails to protect against a serious fall from the ledges that are a part of the trail. As you walk along you will notice many unique rock formations. The area is also fossil rich. It does include a small cave called Tory Cave as well. Sometimes, there is a waterfall on the trail. Depending on how much rainfall there is the waterfall can have a lot of water, or absolutely nothing at all. In dry times you may not be able to spot where the waterfall even is. The trail is a mile in length. Stop in at the visitor center before you go on the trail. They have several displays on the geological history of the area. Check the Thacher State Park website to make sure trail is open as well. Unfortunately, it is not open year round. If you like nice hikes with beautiful scenery that the Indian Ladder Trail is for you!"
"Went here yesterday with my sister and it's a GREAT trail for beginners to hike. The inclines and declines aren't that bad, for the most part it feels like just walking along a regular road. The path takes abput 30 min to hike and is also clearly marked so its hard to get lost. There are also a lot of nice views along the way too. But whatever waterfall used to be there however long ago is mostly a dried up trickle now that won't even really show up in pictures. Highly recommend doing this if your with someone new to hiking and also highly recommend checking out the viewpoint a little up the road from the trail"
"Great hiking trail! Relatively easy hike though some stairs in some parts. Magnificent scenery overlooking both the area and valley below. Never too crowded. May be some waterfalls depending on the time of year. Great views. Cool visitor center as well. Need to pay for parking. Dogs are allowed on leash. Definitely worth checking out!"
