Reviews of Strike 10 Lanes Deer Park
"Worst bowling alley I’ve ever been to. The employees and managers were extremely rude"
"Visited with friends and our children. We weren’t even acknowledged as we were all standing by the main desk by any staff member. The manager was busy on the phone taking care of something and walked past us twice! She could’ve easily greeted us and ask for a few mins. But that certainly did not happen. Don’t want to attribute this to our skin color, but it sure felt like it. We were really looking forward to supporting a small business but sadly left having to explain to the kids why we didn’t feel welcome there and had to go elsewhere."
"Absolutely horrible experience. The front desk worker Joe was incredibly rude. I work with an autistic adult and we’re practicing him asking for things on his own. So he asked for the one hour bowling session and Joe tried to rush him along. Joe refused to even make eye contact with my client and only spoke to me. There was no line and no reason to not allow him the extra five seconds so that my client could speak for himself. I bowled as well and asked if it was necessary for me to wear bowling shoes (as some places don’t require it if you are already wearing closed toe shoes). Joe responded with “yeah”. I took the shoes but saw that around 90% of the other bowlers in the establishment were not wearing them (there was about 25 other people there). So I decided not to wear them seeing as it did not seem to be a strictly enforced rule. Now I do understand I should have followed the guidelines provided. But after about five frames into our game Joe came up and got directly into my coworkers face and said “if she goes up again without bowling shoes I’m shutting down the lane” in a very rude and irate tone. My coworker simply said that his tone was uncalled for and that many other customers were not wearing bowling shoes. Joe then said he was planning on telling them after he spoke with us. Yet all of these people had arrived earlier than us. Joe disregarded me completely and only spoke with my male coworker. He seemed to want to use his “power” to show that he was in charge. He was extremely rude and had just about zero customer service skills. I have never written a review before on Google but I told myself that I had to because this man was just so horrible that the bowling alley he works for needs to see that he should be fired. As well as any parent or guardian who plans to take any children or any special needs child or adult to this facility PLEASE SEEK OTHER OPTIONS. I wish I could give negative one hundred stars."
"MUST ASK FOR SPEACIALS!!!!!!!! The manager WILL charge you full price if you dont specifically ask her for the special. Look I love the bowling alley, we come here all the time, but apparently now you have ask even if the sign is clearly posted. They even tried to remove the sign after the complaint of finding out our session ended 1.5hrs early."
"Please beware of the none transparent offerings occurring at this establishment. Strikes on Deer Park currently offers a Groupon. The Groupon does not statet that "it cannot be used when schools are out/closed". It is false advertising to change the rules once you get to the establishment. I wanted to support a local small business and then have this happen. Nowhere on the Groupon does it state the in store postin [ the Groupon was udated later in the day to show the exclusion]. I am surprised that Groupon does business with an establishment that does not list all of the exclusions. Dawn, the on duty Manger may benefit from some additional training in customer service. It is shameful. However on a good note,Joe that works the front desk has the stuff of a strong customer service and management skills. The rating I am providing is based on the non transparent policy and poor customer service."
