"The Plant Outpost is one of the very best plant shops I've ever experienced—and as an avid plant collector, I have travelled far and wide in search of plants! Sarah's extraordinary shop has a wonderful mix of healthy, happy budget-friendly plants for those who are just starting to dabble in the world of houseplants—and then also stocks some stunning (and reasonably priced!) rare plants and extra large specimens. You'll find locally-made pottery and a plethora of fun gifts for any plant-lover in your life. The owner and staff members are incredibly knowledgeable and able to answer any queries or concerns you may have. Beyond all of the basics (plant selection, pricing, etc.), it is worth noting that the shop's atmosphere in and of itself is worth a visit. Located in the hip Cargo District, stepping inside feels like entering a jungle. It is so clear how much love and care has been poured into making the space a sanctuary of sorts. Light bounces from sun catchers and small disco balls, and there's vibrant greenery everywhere you look. The shop's motto is "hope this finds you smiling"—and wouldn't you know it, most folks you find within those walls are indeed smiling, whether reaching out to touch a wish list plant or discussing soil mixtures with Dakota. In short, the Plant Outpost is a magical space, and I couldn't begin to recommend it enough!"

"This was the nicest plant store that I have gone to. The staff was super friendly and helped me pick out a plant. This is not your normal plant store. It has the rare plants and giant cactus. I got my Monteria Tai and Philodendron Gloriosum. This not your Lowes or Walmart plants so expected higher quality and prices. These are the bucket list plants."

"Ok so I will start off with this because I just made the mistake of looking at some of the other reviews before starting mine. I am in shock this place does not have all 5 star reviews because it should. Now on to my review. This store is legit, awesome and the only place in Wilmington I will buy my indoor plants from. I have purchased several plants from here. All of them were and are super healthy. Every time I have shopped at this store everyone that has helped me has been super nice and very knowledgable. There is absolutely no plant in this store “not well taken care of” like I just read in another review. I mean when you come in this store you will be amazed by the selection and the health of the plants. They will tell you everything you need to know about taking care of the plant you buy and they will repot any plant for you. Last time I purchased a plant for my mom and the lady was nice enough to right down the care instructions on a tab that she stuck down in the soil. If you want to buy a new plant or just want to look at some really cool healthy plants this is a must try if regardless if you are visiting or live in the area."
