"This is the most unfair company when it comes to their truck drivers. Do not want to use the word racist but that is exactly what it appears to be. Dispatch will hold trucks for drivers that don’t come in until 4/5 hours later, they have their favorites when it comes to loads. No point of talking the anyone about it because it may change for 2/3 days and that’s it. Night shift never wash out the trailors they hold it all for day shift. The most unorganized place and wonder why drivers leaving going to Prestage"
"Can’t complain….got here, drove around to the back…checked in at door 18, was told my load was in a storage trailer; immediately told me to back into dock 18, they brought said trailer to the dock next to me and started the transfer"
"Drivers….BEWARE!!!! Damage caused to your trailer and Smithfield claims they hand load our trucks to avoid this from happening! Therefore, their insurance will not cover any claims!"
"The entrance is actually off of Southeast Blvd. Enter, stop in front of the scale and guard will come out to check trailer and order number. Go around the building, drive on a very narrow path to the docks. Exit is the same way you entered Docks, when crowded, are tight to back into. If you drop a trailer on the other side, gravel, holes, it's tight. Sales office is next to dock 18. Staff are nice and helpful. Posted pic of narrow drive. There's a Walmart about 3 miles away yo park if need be. Looks like maybe some limited overnight parking here before scale, off the entrance. Have a nice cafeteria (limited hours) and vending machines. There is a scale on the way out, guard will print you a 3 axle weight ticket."
"All in all pretty uneventful for a D&H. It's very dark at night, and people driving around Bobtail with their lights on are blinding. Especially after a rain. Depending on where they spot your trailer it may be very tight to get it out. I had a telephone pole directly in front of me, and had to go the opposite way to the exit. A Prime truck backed up 300 feet instead of coming around like I was trying to get him to do, and took up about 12 feet of the space I needed to turn around. Being blinded I miscalculated the distance to the fence. Be very aware of the height of the curbs by the fence."
