"I had my first appointment with Dr. Pribis in December and was impressed with her attentiveness and professionalism. She took the time to understand my eye history (I've had glasses and contacts since elementary school) and in doing so, it was evident that she is very passionate about her job. Dr. Pribis is also very personable. I was more than happy under her care and I will be going to her for annual appointments from now on."
"I am a patient of Dr. Eizabeth Siderides. When I moved from NY to Conn., a family friend had recommended her. This past December I had cataract surgery on both of my eyes, within a week of each other. Dr. Siderides was exceptional during all stages of the process. Thorough exams and explanations were given at every stage by Dr. Siderides and her medical support staff. The surgery on each eye was a complete success and my vision has not been this good since I was a teenager. I highly recommend Dr. Siderides and Stamford Ophthalmology."
"I honestly didn't even get in to see a doctor. I was experiencing some concerning eye symptoms and was hoping to get an earlier appointment. I was told that they could only see me a month from today despite my symptoms impacting my autonomy. While I understand that the office is busy, there was truly no empathy for my symptoms by the front desk staff. They said I wasn't experiencing a 'true emergency' and that was the best they could do. Then they hung up on me when I tried to get examples of what that office considered a 'true' emergency in their eyes. I didn't yell or raise my voice, I was simply asking this question before I establish care because I have an pre-existing eye condition. Absolutely unacceptable that is the behavior they allow their front desk staff to exhibit. I just went ahead and canceled my appointment, I can only foresee negative experiences with this office that isn't worth the trouble."
"Dr. Lauren Schneider is one of the most outstanding specialists to whom I entrust my care. She is intelligent, highly skilled, warm and accessible, and always a pleasure to deal with; she makes one feel as though he or she is the only patient with whom she is dealing, answering all questions and concerns both patiently and clearly. Specifically, she successfully cured my severe myopia/astigmatism (of about 60 years’ standing!) via painless and uneventful cataract surgery 3.5 years ago, after which I still am enjoying perfect vision!!! Every examination before and since that event has been careful, solicitous and informative. Also, the support staff deserve a shout-out for being polite, professional, friendly, and accommodating. I can’t recommend this doctor, and this practice, strongly enough."
"My eyes were fine until I started going to Stamford Ophthalmology and their Dr Lauren Schneider one year ago. She immediately put me on Betimol eye drops due to what she called high IOP for glaucoma without the full required panoply of tests. My previous glaucoma specialist at Yale had just said to monitor the situation. The drops—a cheap physician sample and not for resale contained BAK, a preservative that damages the eye surface. She had me on that for 5 months before and after a Selective Laser Trabelectomy (SLT). I subsequently developed recurrent corneal erosion—a painful and debilitating condition. No problem says Schneider, I’ll do more surgery with diamond burrs, despite what other doctors recommend—a less aggressive approach of OTC medications. When all you have is a hammer (a surgeon’s laser) everything looks like a nail. I won’t go back to her and advise you to stay away. She lacks empathy, and the office’s portal—the only way to communicate with the ophthalmologist—has been down for months."
