"Dr. Cutler was kind, but is not proficient in diagnosis of full-body disorders/diseases. As a former pediatric patient, she consistently informed me that the issues I presented to her were "nothing to worry about". When I asked her why you could see nearly every single vein through my skin, she said this was nothing to worry about. She did not record this information in my file. When my ankle was giving me a great amount of pain, which radiated up to my knee, and hip, she was convinced that it was a hairline fracture. She ordered x-rays, checked for a sprain, but stopped treating my pain at the point when none of the tests seemed to turn anything up. She meerly recommended that I stop running. She offered no alternative methods to stay physically active, and furthermore she didn't seem to believe that my pain was real. She did not look into the possibility of a connective tissue disorder (which I now know was the source of my pain). Dr. Cutler was not my advocate. I don't understand how disbelieving the patient's pain would ever lead to a positive health outcome. Her behavior lead to a years-long defferment in recieving my diagnosis. I have done extensive damage to my joints by thinking "it was nothing to worry about". What I knew in my gut was right all along... Something was seriously wrong with my body, and it took years to unlearn the damaging thought that "it was nothing to worry about". If you want your child's doctor to take them at their word when they say they are in pain, keep looking! Dr. Cutler did not care enough to get to the root of my pain, and I did permanent damage to my body by treating it like it was completely healthy, and by believeing Dr. Cutler when she told me my pain was "nothing to worry about"."
