"It is difficult to put into words the gratitude that my family and I have for Dr. Mann. The point of this review is not to acknowledge that he is a world class surgeon, the point is to give hope to anyone who finds themselves in a situation like our family did. My mother has been affected by a recurrent liposarcoma since 2008. Dr. Mann operated on my mother in 2008, 2012 and once again in early 2022. Prior to the most recent operation, the outlook was bleak. Due largely to my mothers denial and procrastination, the tumor had regrown to a massive size and there was a significant risk that my mother would not survive the surgery. Even if the surgery was successful, we were told she would need massive blood transfusions, that she would spend days in the ICU post surgery and that she could very likely lose a leg, end up in a wheelchair and live the rest of her life with a stoma. The only thing that gave us hope was Dr. Mann. Dr. Mann was very responsive, direct but perhaps most importantly kind in the way he communicated with our entire family. He gave us the reassuring feeling that we were a priority for him and that he was prepared to deliver the best possible outcome. My mother not only survived the surgery but was walking around the hospital less than 24 hours after the operation! No blood transfusions, no ICU, no wheelchair, not even a permanent stoma. To call this a miracle would be dismissive of Dr. Mann’s surgical brilliance. When a patient can walk 24 hours after such a surgery it is obvious that the surgeon executed the procedure with minimal trauma. This is the mark of a real talent. If you are reading this and the odds are against you, just know that Dr. Mann will give you the best chance of success. We owe him everything for giving my mother a new lease on life."
