Reviews of Cobbs Hill Park
"I absolutely love walking my dog here. The views are amazing, and I get options. If I just want to walk the paved path around the reservoir, I can, but if I want to challenge myself, I can do the hill or walk in the grass to let my dog enjoy sniffing around."
"This park has two distinct areas. The recreational activities are mostly at the bottom of the hill, while the top holds one of the best views of Rochester. This place is best enjoyed at sunset, and attracts quite a following of photographers on a nightly basis. If you’re at the top of the hill, walking the reservoir, there are paths that take you to the old water towers if you follow the edge of the parking circle. Look for desire trails along the grass/tree edge. Multiple towns fireworks can be viewed from here on the Fourth of July as well. I am not certain if the firework viewing is endorsed by the park but last year it was very busy. Years ago a drum circle used to come up here. I am not sure if they still do because I haven’t seen them in the last few years however the acoustics up there, made it awesome. The interior of the water towers also has amazing acoustics."
"Often overshadowed by the more marketed Highland Park, Cobbs Hill is a treasure tucked neatly nearby. The full park has a lot to offer, basketball courts, baseball field, tennis courts, and plenty of green space in the lower area - the true gem is up towards the reservoir - Washington Grove and the old water tanks. Washington Grove is an old-growth Oak-Hickory Forest with winding trails that take you away from the bustle of the city. The ecology is amazing here, and I'll never get tired of seeing the mushrooms or berries peeking through from the undergrowth. The water tanks proudly show off local graffiti artists, and the talent that can be found up there is immense! The murals change more often than the seasons, and I always look forward to seeing what's new. In the summer and fall, you can step inside at least one of the tanks to see more art and get those brain itches scratched with a delightful echo. The reservoir itself makes for a great walking track if you're looking for paved and pretty (ps, it's about .69mi for one lap)"
"Love this park right in the middle of the city. Basketball courts, tennis courts, baseball diamond, picnic and grilling area, dog park, playground and play area for kids, hiking trails, and the walking path around the reservoir. Also has the skyline view of downtown. Highly recommend this park."
"This is a SAFE SPRAY SPOT in Rochester. Changes all the time. I love it up there it peaceful. Plus, it shows the talent that hides in the shadows in the ROC"
