"The entire park has been done over. It now has wrought iron safety gates around the entire perimeter. I have been traveling through this park since 1977, and I liked it better before they had gates around the park. I guess the powers in charge feel that the gates are preventing mayhem and miscreants."

"This park has come a loooong way. Once upon a time the park was home to some of the best pick-up basketball in Queens. You could drive past the park and see the action from Merrick Blvd. After going through a dry spell the park has been redone and now has a beautiful playground as well as a outdoor gym for adults. It now is the location for some of the best high school basketball in the city as it hosts the M.T.G (More Than a Game) classic every summer"
