Reviews of S'Aimer NYC
"I had a amazing night at S'aimer from the moment I walked in and was greeted by Tayo and Donald til the second I put on my coat and walked out. They were both friendly and courteous. I ordered my drink right away which was made by Donald who added a little razzle dazzle to it with a flower ans glitter. The Creole Punch was to die for. I enjoyed every sip. I ordered both my appetizer and entree at the same time. I had the crispy squid and the pulled oxtail. The food was served so quick and it was hot. The squid was good but that oxtail meal had me in a clutch. I don't think I even exhaled while eating. It was so delicious. There was nothing left on my plate. The music was so chill and the vibes were unmatched. I will definitely recommend S'aimer. Tens stars!!!!"
"Very nice vibe, music wasn’t too loud as some other reviewers had mentioned. When we sat the waiter informed us that there was a 90min time limit but I feel like that’s normal after Covid. And it was just me and the hubby so it doesn’t take us 90min to eat a meal. Drinks were good, I got the Cherie Amor and he got the Cocobelle, both were enjoyable. The drinks took a bit of time to come out but came out before the apps. The apps and food came out within good time, entree actually came out before we were done with app but we didn’t mind. Overall very nice evening!"
"So, of course, if you drive your car to New York City, you’re going to struggle with parking. That is my only issue. Upon entering the restaurant, I was warmly greeted by well dressed staff. The atmosphere is warm and tastefully decorated. The deep green hues of the paint were absolutely mesmerizing and made you want to settle in. I definitely wanted to steal some furniture. I ordered the pulled oxtails, and they did not disappoint. Absolutely delicious. The cabbage was cooked perfectly al dente. Since I don’t drink, I ordered the passion fruit drink and a ginger beer. I would love to visit this restaurant again while commuting by train so my nerves won’t be so worked up from looking for parking. I met the head chef on my way out the restaurant, and he was very friendly and inviting. I appreciate that sophisticated flair in combination with down-home Caribbean cooking."
"The atmosphere was very warm, and nice, it looked posh, inviting, and elegant but looks are certainly deceiving. The background music does not need to be blasted that loud in such a tiny place The restaurant was empty on a prime-time Saturday night which already tells you something. There were more employees than customers, and a lot of them idling around, but I don't know how the service managed to be very slow. Food took quite a considerable time to come, especially with only 2 other tables occupied. The menu is small, not a big variety of dishes offered and from what I tasted nothing is particularly interesting. The apps I had were the squid (very very very small pieces, but the tomato sauce was flavorful), and the mussels (the smallest I have ever seen, but the broth was flavorful and good to eat with the bread). The entrees are very pricey and marked as a “sharing meal” and I'd think it was a portion for two but when it came up it was a tiny meal, not enough for one, for the price of 3, which makes the price even more exorbitant. It's just a subterfuge to justify the high prices. Ordered the oxtail and I guess the kitchen forgot to purchase salt, flavor was not there. The fries were blonde and the parmesan cheese tasted like supermarket powdered parm. At the end of the meal after the plates were collected the check was dropped and that just "canceled" the dessert I never had the chance to order. I was extremely disappointed in my experience there. The stars are maybe just for the ambiance, the squid sauce, and the mussel's broth."
