Thousand Trails Rondout Valley

"Fabulous, well spaced campground. The grounds are very, very well kept. Great views of rushing rivers from several places on the grounds. The staff went above and beyond (Beth especially) for my family. Everyone here from the people at the gate, maintenance, activities staff, restaurant owner, EVERYONE was great. Welcoming and fun. They plan weekend activities for the kids and there’s something fun every weekend (bon fires, live music, ect) we were blown away and if we’re ever in the area, we will be back."

"This TT campground is beautiful!! Lots of things to do, a store, a snack counter, full hookups available. The only thing I didn't like was the smell and taste of the water....chlorine! Overall, I love it there!"

"I have been camping at Rondout Valley since I was a kid, it was always a fun place to go fast forward I ended up with a seasonal site & made some really close friends & at the time the campground had a great manager “Charlie” wish he still ran the place. Fast forward again, returned to Rondout with family & it’s like a nursing home. The current manager Wayne is not a people person, will do everything in his power to remove you from the campground, employees & guests do not like him. He has ruined this campground. I hope thousand trails eventually gets enough negative reviews and removes him, until then we camp elsewhere…"

"If you have kids, the best part about this park is their bounce pad. Our three year old had something to do at all times, this is a very nice park but the water stinks like no where I've ever been, even with a filter on it leaves your whole camper smelling like eggs. I don't recommend doing laundry here"

"Camped here one week ago. Loved this campground and plan to return! We seriously don’t understand the reviews with so many complaints. Check in was easy, site was great, bathrooms were clean, pool was clean and well maintained. Staff was pleasant and helpful. We looked around and wished we still had young kids because there was so much to keep them busy.. a rec hall, a bounce pad, a ton of outdoor games and a weekend packed with activities. Not to mention a really nice playground and sandbox for the little little ones! They even cover the sandbox at night to keep it clean. It poured one night but you can’t control the weather! Campground did lose power for a couple of hours which was no big deal. Navigating the roads and map to initially find the site was a bit tricky would be nice if someone led you to the site like some of the TT do, but we found it. Of all TT campgrounds we’ve visited, this one had the most beautiful flower beds and hanging flower pots all healthy, beautiful and full of color! Surrounding area is beautiful and hope to return in the fall to experience it during foliage season. Many farmers markets in the area and a great day trip to Walkway Over the Hudson. We arrived around 2pm so we missed the line up.. my thought on that is if you don’t want to wait in a line up don’t show up before check in time.. or just be patient. We thought the place overall was great"
