"There are therapists who merely help you get by in life, and then there are therapists who actually change your life for the better in an enduring and meaningful way - Dr. Hecht is the latter. He is an absolutely brilliant man, and has a unique style of therapy that really worked for me. I am not the same person I was when I started treatment with Dr. Hecht, and feel lucky to have found him. The impact on my life has been invaluable. Thank you, Dr. Hecht!"
"Jamey was incredibly helpful to me during a very rough time, I can’t thank him enough!"
"My husband and saw Dr. Hecht during a rough time in our marriage. We've been together for 10 years but married for 2.5. In the last couple of months since we've been seeing him, we have made more progress in our relationship than we have over the course of 10 years. However, he's not a passive therapist. If you're looking for someone that's going to be heavily engaged and involved, to prompt you, to question you - then I would absolutely, 10000% recommend Dr. Hecht! He may very well have saved our marriage."
"Dr. Hecht really helped me through a rough point in my life where my thoughts were jumbled, feelings unclear and depression had taken an all time low. He was able to help me compartmentalize everything and then tackle each issue with a different thought and solution. Dr. Hecht is super educated in literature and philosophy and I found it refreshing when he would draw parallels to his other studies."
"Jamey Hecht is the WORST therapist ever, to the extent to make you wonder, how did he even get licensed!? *Starting a long statement* My partner and I had three sessions with him altogether. He was late for 15 minutes in the first session, and promised us that it was VERY RARE and would never happen again. However, he was late for 15 minutes AGAIN in the second session without any apology. He admitted his fault and proposed he would not charge us for the two sessions (I still paid my co-pay for the first session though since he asked for it at the end of the session and we were shy to say no. He still asked for the co-pay for the second session but my partner pointed out he was late). However, after he found out my insurance had expired, he started texting me to pay him for the three sessions through PayPal. First, I gave him my insurance information right after the first session so he can bill the company. He did not verify it on time hence lead to the billing issue. Second, I told him I felt uncomfortable because of his inconsistencies. He said "I apologized, and you can do the same." Well, what do I need to apologize to you for anyway? Third, I also asked him to write me a letter for some administrative purposes at work and he agreed to complete it on time. I emailed him a week in advance and confirmed with him again during our session. However, he only started working on it the afternoon before the deadline and told me later he cannot complete it on time. That's EXTREMELY unprofessional. He also tried to charge me for 40 min of his work, which makes sense. However, when I asked for the half-completed letter, he ignored me again. At last, I don't think Jamey is a therapist whose aim is to help you. He said he replied my email on patient portal but in fact he did not. I texted him about scheduling the next appointment and he did not reply. When I called him about the letter he sounded extremely impatient and tried to hang up the phone even before I finish. Ironically, when it comes to billing issues, he replies you within seconds and send you unnecessarily long message trying to justify his "shifting gears". *End of story* Long story short, since recently I have been contacting other therapists who are very empathetic and kind, it made me feel even more uncomfortable how unprofessional Jamey is. For those who are already going through stresses and dealing with baggages, stay away from him, since he can be the last straw that breaks the camel's back."
