"I had to change my rating after dealing with this office for a year and a half. They are committing insurance fraud. The visit is $200 for 45 mins. If you're fortunate enough to have out of network benefits, they charge the insurance $250. The office says they're trying to help the patient's out which is all well and good until an insurance company catches up with them. They do not understand how insurance works and cannot do simple math. I was overcharged by at least $500 two different times and they had no clue. And of course they get annoyed when you're on top of these things and essentially have to explain to them how to do their job. My therapist was excellent for most of my time there and then she got on a power trip, pretending like she didn't know me at all after a year and a half. It's tough out there to find quality and take insurance."
"I had an experience here with Bianca Marro and her boss; DiScalfani, that traumatized me. I still remember it to this day. He only saw me once, and he asked me about why I wasn’t working and I explained that I had several recent suicide attempts due to physical illness and he said “are you going to keep using that as an excuse?” It felt so horrible to hear and I will never forget those words. I told him that telling a patient they are using a suicide attempt as an excuse is wrong and instead of acknowledging that he just said “are you going to keep repeating that?” I was so shocked I recorded all of this. I still have panic attacks to this day about it. I can’t describe how horrible it feels to be told that your suicide attempt is being used as an excuse. DiScalfani said my anxiety couldn’t be that serious because I “can go to therapy and use a phone”, as if people with a disability can’t use a phone or go to therapy. I said the stress the physical illness causes was so severe I vomit sometimes (and added that my parents witness this and could tell him) and he said “well you’re not vomiting right now.” Bianca added “a lot of people with anxiety can manage.” I was diagnosed with Tinnitus when I was a teenager; an extremely loud ringing in my ears. When I explained that this is why I attempted suicide and asked if he could live with that, he said “No, and I don’t have to!” I don’t think this needs to be said but a psychiatrist should never tell their patient they are using a suicide attempt as an excuse. I asked him how he could justify saying this and he said “Did you go to medical school? No. I’m the one who has a degree, you don’t get to tell me anything.” When I expressed how horrible it felt he didn’t acknowledge what he said was wrong and he just said “you’re just unhappy you didn’t get what you wanted.” Both my psychiatrist and former psychologist who had to terminate therapy with me because she said my mental state required a higher level of care had already even written disability letters a week prior stating that I was unable to work. I am on disability right now. I had no reason to be upset if he wouldn’t concur. What traumatized me was him repeatedly telling me my suicide attempts were an excuse. I can’t forget the moment he told me a suicide attempt is an excuse and I still have panic attacks about it. It affected me so much. I was later told by a psychologist that this was clinically known as medical gaslighting. DiScalfani can have a psychology degree but he lacks the knowledge and basic empathy to apply it."
"Dr. DiScalfani helped me to become more assertive and set boundaries for myself. I’m extremely grateful for his help."
"Great experience when I was struggling. Extremely clean office, high quality care and easy to work with. Submitted everything for me to insurance so I didn't have to submit receipts as I have had to do in the past on my own which was always a headache. Highly recommend!"
