"Browsing in Blowing Rock in July, my dear friend took me to Blowing Rock Estate Jewelry to show me a ring she had been admiring. I fell in love with an exquisite diamond and sapphire ring and purchase it on the spot - it was exactly what I had been looking for. It really spoke to me! I took the piece to my hometown jeweler just to verify that all the stones were in fact real (they are!) and everything about the piece matched the appraisal that Susie gave me with my purchase. Five weeks after my purchase one of the beautiful sapphires fell out of the ring and was lost. I called Susie, and she gave me instructions on exactly what to do to return the ring to her. She and her father sent the ring out to a specialty jeweler who repaired it and it was received back at Blowing Rock Estate jewelry today. I am so happy to be able to wear this gorgeous ring! Many thanks to Susie and her family; I could not have asked for a better service."
"I first saw a Columbian Emerald ring I liked & Susie quoted $4K. I thought it over & called her back in January to see if still available & it was and she again quoted $4K. I don't make spur of the moment decisions on an item with this price tag without se thought. She saw I was very in in the ring & sent to an appraiser. Then price doubled! I feel she should have stuck to her word on price. It obviously did not sell thru Christmas & she stated normally did not stay open the mth of January --only by appointment. I will never do business there again & would advise shoppers to be very careful buying anything with her there. I was ready to go Sat, Feb 11th and.biy ring. She informed me did not want to discuss any further & look in previous text for price to buy ring now. This will be reported to Better Business Bureau as I told her."
"We came up to visit our son at Appalachian State and we decided to walk the trail nearby downtown Blowing Rock. The mud was so bad on the trail so I turned around & found my way back into town and did some exploring. When I walked into the store, the employee was busy with a customer. I took some pics for my Google review and some time passed and the lady never greeted me or said, “I’ll be with you in a moment.” It was quite disappointing. I did, however, say something to her when I was heading out. She did explain that she was trying to wrap up with the previous customer because she was in a hurry or something like that. I did really enjoy the few minutes of browsing the vintage and antique Jewelry. I’ve been a collector for years, and they have quite a bit to choose from. Some pieces look really spectacular and it’s worth a visit if you are in the market. I may come back when I am interested in adding another piece to my jewelry collection."
"We visited a few days ago and enjoyed looking through the assortment of rings. Susie was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, even helping me to determine my ring size! Though we didn’t leave with anything this time around, I know we will be back!"
"BUYER BEWARE!! Jim, Marlene and Susie don’t tell the truth. I bought a ring from Marlene several years ago. A diamond fell out. I went to 3 jewelers that told me to take it back where I bought it. Susie told me that they didn’t repair jewelry to take it to Village Jewelers. Another diamond fell out, a couple months ago, after several attempts to find them open, I went in . Jim and Marlene were there. He told me that he would take my ring to their repair man in Charlotte that weekend. I told them I was going on vacation and they said that they would meet me . I asked them the charge and he looked at Marlene and she said , Oh no charge, we will take care of it. He texted me a month later and said for me to come pick up my ring that he would not repair or reset my diamond. He had never taken it to Charlotte as he said he would. I WOULD never do business with these people. I took it back to Village Jewelers, and they are sending it to be repaired. Charlie and Joy Travis are honest people ."
