Reviews of Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens
"A beautiful way to get out of the cold and view amazing plants, flowers and trees.there is a little bit of something to see for everyone.my favorite was watching the Koi fish in the garden ponds.the different plants and colors are so beautiful.very relaxing place to visit."
"This was a great place to walk around and see different kinds of plants. It was pretty big so you can spend a few hours here. Admission is $15.50 and parking is free. There are people complaining about the admission being too expensive. That is really cheap. I live in Illinois and the Chicago Botanic Garden is a little over double the price for one adult and parking is not free. Staff was pleasant. It was very clean. It’s worth a visit if you’re in the area. Highly recommended."
"The botanical gardens are a wonderful place to go with the family and if you're looking for a place to sit down with a book while surrounded by beautiful plants and great ambiance that allows maximum relaxation. The plants are marked with their names so that it is easy to research them. If you love plants I recommend coming here."
"The gorgeous glasshouses are the highlight of the Buffalo & Erie County Botanical Gardens. The plants inside are mostly various potted house plants. Nice, but overall not anything amazing. Probaby more impressive if you're a kid, as the dinosaur & other tie-ins seem fun. Aside from the pretty beds at the entrance sidewalk and a sort of patio area out one of the greenhouse doors, we saw no outdoor gardens to speak of. As I understand it, the survival of this place is thanks to community members who organized to keep it afloat. Kudos to them! A fundraising event was to take place the evening of of the day we visited. I hope they did well. With a bigger budget, this place could add outdoor gardens & some more mature indoor displays and become spectacular. We live near and are members & frequent visitors to Longwood Gardens, so our standards are pretty high."
"Quiet and peaceful, the gardens are separated into sections by families and types of environments they thrive in, the gift shop is rather small, the only disappointment was they don't have many gifts in the shop that say Botanical Gardens. The roofs are either leaking or just a lot of moisture, so I won't pass judgment on that. It did not deter from the enjoyment. I'm not a plant specialist, but some did not look healthy, or it was just me. Their is a very tiny art gallery in the middle with a few paintings. The staff were really nice and helpful and seemed they really like working there, I don't see return visits but definitely a 1 time experience to have."
