"I reached out to Susan Weidman for therapy and was rejected by her. I explained to her my reasons for wanting therapy and that I soon would have to switch insurances because of my age. She was uninformed on how the insurance worked and unwilling to help. After giving her my social security number and other info she rejected me due to slight insurance complications. Instead of waiting until my insurance switched over or giving me an option to pay without insurance she told me to seek counseling through my school instead. She then canceled my appointment and said she would no longer be working with me. The other reviews seem to make more sense now."

"I was referred to him by a crisis worker. My very first visit with him without even seeing my child he was bringing up medication. I told him at that first visit you do not know my child u should not be trying to medicate. At this time i will not be putting her on meds and this can be revisted in the future. I told him my views on doctors who answer to everything is to medicate and how that should always be last resort. I went into great details about this and my personal views. Our Second visit he met her and spent ONE hour with her. Third visit was just me and he has already diagnosed her. She has seen all kinds of doctors since the age of 5 now 14 and has never been diagnosed with this. Then proceeds to tell me again she needs meds. Again I told him you do not know my child to be diagnosing let alone medicate. He explains he got the diagnosis from speaking with me ONCE and because of the assessment I filled out. I told him I will not agree with any diagnosis off a piece of paper that is intended for you to get a general idea of issues and then follow up with observing her. Let alone tell me again she needs meds. He also told me I should change her iep from learning disabled to mentally disturbed. Saying if she gets into trouble in school this will help her. But she doesnt get in trouble in school. Guess that one hour with her he figured it all out. Skeptical I bought her today for visit four. Not even five minutes in he telling me she needs meds, that impulsiveness can only be fixed with meds. At this point I've had it with him only wanting to medicate and repeating myself that he don't know my child. Once he sees me getting mad he then starts playing word choice games. Repeating back to me what I just said using different words telling me it has a different meaning. He tried to play games with my head but I am not the one. In that moment I realized how dangerous a man like this can be to a weak person let alone a child."

"I am a 25 year-old woman who was a patient of "Dr. Art" as a child. He encouraged my already highly dysfunctional parents to physically and emotionally torture me with various Attachment Therapy techniques. I'm still dealing with the trauma. I am furious that this crook still operates. When I think of my time as Dr. Becker-Weidman's patient, I feel sad, disgusted and violated. Don't go anywhere near this fake of dubious morals, or allow him to convince you that it's ok to torture children."

"Dr. Weidman is quack and should never be allowed around any child. First of all, his office isn't safe for children. Second of all, he's a shady guy that cares nothing about children, just about making money. I agreed to do(supposedly) through Chautauqua County Family Court to do therapy with him to have my children returned home(even though I had already done years of it elsewhere). I was never labeled with the diagnosis that Dr. Weidman labeled me with through any one else. He would tell me that my kids needed to come home and they are traumatized by the situation. He'd tell me to ask the social workers about visitation. When I asked them, they told me it was up to him. I drove 2 hours up to Williamsville and back for a total of about 16 sessions, billing my medicaid about $250 for Dr. Weidman to "play word games" with me and later tell the therapists I was "suspicious and uncooperative with the therapy", which I don't understand because I was cooperative(even though I had my suspiscious of this creep), how could someone take so much time out of their day and out of their pocket just to come to therapy not to cooperate. Essentially he was hired by the Department of Social Services to testify against us(regardless of our ability to be parents our not) because they wanted to sell my children to the foster family and that's exactly what has happened. He told the mother "I'm going to testify against you in court and tell them you're not fit to be a mom(shes a wonderful mom)" and furthermore told her "You should move somewhere else, start a new life, have kids somewhere else", so like I'm saying here, this guy isn't just a quack, he's a criminal. My daughter cried the first moment she laid eyes upon him(she never does that). In the foster home, my kids were being abused and neglected. My daughter had to wear a helmet because her head formed(flat back of the head) from being left in a crib or playpen, rocker for too long, multiple horrible diaper rashes, armed pulled out of it's socket, my son had a broken arm and ended up having seizures because of the meds they put him on(he was fine when he was home with us-we never did anything to neglect or abuse our children in any way), But according to this doctor, we have this disorganized attachment pattern that is creating the same attachment pattern in my child. When my lawyer asked him "do you think it's because the kids have been in foster care for over a year?" his response was "i highly doubt it". He's basically saying that children aren't traumitized when their removed from their parents and my kids clearly were. They wanted to come home. They cried because they couldn't come home. They had to learn to soothe themselves to fall asleep and it was really his job to address these real issues, but LIKE I SAID, he doesn't care about kids, he only cares about that money. I terminated my HIPPA agreement and looked for a new doctor. He came into court and violated my HIPPA agreement, testified anyways-commited perjury, a CLASS D FELONY N.Y. PENAL LAW. It now comes to the courts attention he's being payed $835 dollars to testify against us. If that's not a conflict of interest I don't know what is. I will be pursuing medical malpractice charges and digging in against this bad guy. He put in his report that "we would need psychotherapy for over a year" before we could begin attachment therapy but at trial, he admitted he provided attachment therapy. I wonder what he actually billed our medicaid for. All the money he was getting(including ours)-he goes on vacation with. He goes to Tahiti and Singapoore to go deep sea diving anda give lectures about his pseudoscience therapy. He's even written books. He's got 3 pages of qualifications and he can't even explain what "schizoid features" are without the DSM-V. Let me tell you the therapy he provides is highly controversial. Has resulted in the death of many children and the ogranization he belongs to ATTCH has been on the brunt of numerous lawsuits, 6 involving child deaths. Stay away from this shady criminal."

"After speaking with Arthur Becker-Weidman and explaining our reason for calling and asking if this was an area he could help in he said yes and scheduled an appt. Several appointments later (and several hundred dollars), after doing some testing, he referred us to someone else who specializes in the problem we had sought help for. It was then that we decided to call the insurance company to file a complaint and at that time found out he wasn't licensed to do the tests he performed and that's why we had to pay so much out of pocket (something Becker-Weidman had NOT disclosed) and we left with the same problem our child had gone in for, losing 4 months and several hundred dollars in the process. It is 6+ months later and Arthur Becker-Weidman has not been cooperative with the insurance company or with us, failing for months on end to provide a basic statement of services provided to either us or the insurance company. The botttom line is, be very wary."
