Dr. Ehab E. Abdelmalek, MD

"Sharing here because I cannot seem to post at his new location. I had to transfer very late during my pregnancy, compounded by the fact that the incompetent Northwell Health took TWO whole months to transfer my records over, and then sent items that were incomplete and illegible (a grumble for another day)! I was very lucky that Dr. Abdelmalek agreed to take me on, and it was probably due to his light schedule having changed locations recently. Phew! Thank you, Dr. A! I was initially worried about having a male provider (all the female providers were booked) but I should not have been. Dr. Abdelmalek has a wonderfully kind, patient and welcoming bedside manner and a great sense of humor to boot. He took the time to answer all of our questions and concerns, patiently explain the processes, and offer moral support as well. I ended up having an unplanned C-section delivery, but I am so glad that Dr. A was the one to do my surgery. Firstly, he. listened to my wants and needs and concerns and never tried to pressure me one way or the other. He gave us all the info, asked other docs to chime in as well for assurance, and allowed us a bit more time to decide what to do. Not only did he stay past his shift especially to take charge of this (which he didn't need to), I was later visited by one of the doctors I had initially hoped for (Dr. Sarah Yu), who admired his work and told me what a brilliant doctor he is ("Dr. Abdelmalek is amazing, isn't he?!"). It turns out, he is the one who trained her and Dr. Houghton, and they both called him to personally request he join them at the new place. As such, I feel like I lucked out on getting the secret GOAT / sempai doctor, and I have no idea why he has such a low-key internet presence! Especially considering his impressive background and years of work in education and advocating for improved care for women. So I am doing my duty to post on here for any other wavering mothers. You won't find a better doctor than Dr. Ehab Abdelmalek! And if we have any more children, I won't think twice before going back to Dr. A."
