About the Business
Miyazaki Bayside Karate Dojo is a traditional Japanese karate school located at 20852 Cross Island Parkway in New York, United States. Our curriculum is based on the teachings of Gichin Funakoshi, the father of Modern Karate, and passed down by our Grandmaster Toyotaro Miyazaki. As a member of the ISF – International Shotokai Federation, we are dedicated to preserving Funakoshi's karate heritage.
At our family-oriented dojo, students come together to practice a martial art that has been refined over centuries. Karate is not only an effective form of self-defense but also a tool for character development. We aim to provide a nurturing environment that promotes self-esteem, respect, and discipline. Through training at our dojo, you will develop healthy exercise habits, improved fitness, and focus while mastering the skills of self-defense. "I started going to this dojo over two years ago and I'm loving every moment. I'm so proud to be a part of this traditional karate dojo. Both my boys also take classes. The senseis/sempis (instructors/higher ranking students) are very patient and understanding with the younger students and make sure they truly understand there katas (whichever they are up to), and no matter how long it takes. My oldest was a white belt for almost 2 years untill he full understood and preformed the kata well. He appreciates the hard work he put in to studying for his test. Osu!!!"
