"If you are looking for a place to ride or board your horse this is the place to be! All horses have exceptional care and are turned out daily in large grassy fields not tiny paddocks like many places. There is a huge outdoor arena as well as indoor. Debbie has been teaching my daughter not only how to ride but also the importance of taking care of horses. Each student is taught to tack and untack their horse for each lesson. Debbie has an amazing knowledge base and teaches with a positive and encouraging technique. The overall feel of the barn is friendly and inviting. Everyone who works here or boards here is helpful and it is drama free! I also trailer my own horse here for lessons and have learned so much. Debbie will tailor lessons around your personal goals and takes students to shows both competatively and for fun but there is no pressure to show if that is not for you. Definitely a 5 star place in my book!"
"This place is a scam. I was looking for work and came in for a working interview shift. I was told a five house shift would be $55. It's less than minimum wage but I was told if the work was finished early, I could go home and make the same pay. I decided to give it a shot. After working for five hours, with one 10 minute break, I decide the job is not worth the pay. There is a lot of stable cleaning and moving a lot of horses. When I ask for my compensation, I'm told by the person who trained me and by the owner herself that since I didn't do "all of the work" aka a trainer was doing it with me, I wouldn't even get the full pay. This is illegal and is a very shady business practice. You can't pay someone less during training- especially since this is what they told me AFTER I did the work and went home. It's against the law for an entire shift to account for less than minimum wage and now the owner is trying to use people for cheap labor. Her argument was that I decided not to stay on with the business- and after seeing how they run things, I'm so glad I decided not to return. Find another place to get lessons from or to board your horse because this place only cares about lining their own pockets and taking advantage of people. --> Add on; they responded to me having posted this on Facebook, saying I was compensated in full (which I eventually was- but still for less than minimum wage). They thanked me for the interview and tried to say other placating things to try and save face from having scammed me. They won't be changing their policy."
"I highly recommend Debbie and her team -- they are welcoming and extremely knowledgeable. And I can't say enough good about the horses!!!"
"Beautiful facility and staff. Knowledgeable and very friendly. My now almost 6 year old has been riding here for nearly 2 years. Debbie and Kalcy have been encouraging, professional and incredible. From lessons to horseshows, THIS is where you will see and experience years of hands on knowledge. Running Brook is truly the best of the best in the horse industry."
"I don’t ride, but I watch Debbie give lessons and she does a great job. She is extremely patient and knowledgable. Also, the care of the horses is great, she is someone who genuinely cares about their well-being."
