"I recently attended a basketball tournament at XGen, and I must express my utter disappointment with the overall experience. It's disheartening to witness such mismanagement and disregard for the players, coaches, and spectators. Firstly, hosting three games concurrently is a recipe for chaos. The referees' constant use of whistles creates confusion among players, making it impossible for them to discern which court the calls pertain to. This lack of clarity significantly impacts the game, as players struggle to hear directions from their coaches, and loose balls from one court disrupt play on another. The seating arrangement only adds to the frustration. The venue is overcrowded, making it difficult for spectators to enjoy the games comfortably. Moreover, the referees seem to prioritize rushing through matches, calling games with time left on the clock just to clear the court for the next group's warmups. This rushed approach not only diminishes the quality of play but also leaves a sour taste for those who paid a $7 entrance fee per day/spectator. Speaking of the referees, their behavior raises serious concerns. Engaging in casual conversations with spectators while a game is in progress is not only unprofessional but also disrespectful to the players and the integrity of the competition. Additionally, the absence of a clear line to delineate half-court makes it baffling that the referees still enforce half-court violations. This inconsistency in officiating further adds to the frustration of players and spectators alike. In conclusion, my experience at XGen was far from satisfactory. The organizers need to address these issues urgently to ensure a more enjoyable and fair basketball tournament for everyone involved."
"Our boys had a blast at the camp! We were in town from Scottsdale, AZ and we will definitely come back next time in town! Great coaches!"
"My son was a participant in The Academy which is a training program offered here. He went from first picking up a bball in 2022 to making the Freshman team in HS in 2023. They taught him drills and situations that went beyond what I could teach him in the yard. They also have league play which I feel is run really well. The facility is up to date and clean too. I’d definitely recommend. We also got food here once which was surprisingly good too."
"At this point I’ll be taking legal action. Steer clear of this “organization”& I use that term loosely. Cut the season short because of the team wouldn’t go along with the coach playing favorite to his daughter. Darren was very rude when he finally did respond and never returned payments to families for the last 4 games of the season not played. His retort was the found a replacement coach, yes they did who was already spread thin between several other teams and did not live in the area. Was late to the 2 practices and 1 game they did try to have! Needless to say just find another team!"
"This place is an embarrassment to WNY. The vending machines were empty. There is little to no seating after charging $7 to enter. The courts are so close that players on court 3 get distracted from the referees blowing whistles on court 1. We will get a state of the art facility built in Niagara County to make WNY proud because if anybody thinks that is the best we can do they are sadly mistaken. NFBA (Niagara Falls Basketball Association) coming November 2023"
