Reviews of Pace University
"Place is clean. The library was very cozy. Bathrooms were clean."
"This was the worst campus I've been on. Little to nothing to do for anyone unless it's in your room, the food is dull and expensive, the campus is constantly dead and feels empty especially on the weekends. The parties are lame, the campus has nothing of interest whatsoever, and the town near it doesn't help much."
"I went to school here and will say it is far overpriced for the education received. Some staff are great and really care about the education they are providing. Others just read off a powerpoint and have no interest except for a paycheck. Career services ask if you want to be reached out to and say they will help but its not in their interest. At the NYC campus the administrative and financial aid staff are blatantly rude"
"STAY AWAY. I DON'T KNOW WHY THIS SCHOOL HAS SUCH A GOOD REPUTATION.I don't even know where to start...Pace doesn’t care about anything, but your money. They will walk miles to make even more money but aren't there for you if you need help with anything. Faculty and counselors lied straight to my face when I visited this campus. Unfortunately, I didnt find out until I spent 30K and moved into the dorms. Dont believe anything they tell you. They told me freshmen can park their car on campus which wasn't true. They told me that there are a lot of academic advisors and counselors, Who apparently are there for you whenever you need guidance/help. Which isn't true all the counselors are just there to lure in new students. There is just ONE academic advisor for every college and believe me they couldn't care less about you. I was a communications major and wasn't allowed to choose my own classes. They gave me 4 classes that had nothing to do with my major and were also not common core classes. They gave me : Painting, Jazz, English, "11 great things in politics "...I talked to the academic advisor and she just told me that freshmen get whatever is left over and that we have no priority (Saying you first have to spent $120k, before you get to choose your classes...). She only changed one class; painting to law 101, which I didnt ask for either. I wanted to take a comm class, but they wouldn't let me because "they are full". My one friend was a biology major and they didn't give her a single biology class, but they gave her all the comm classes that I needed. EVERY ONE was complaining about their shedule. I talked to a few colleges and they all said they wouldn't transfer 90% + of the credits because they aren't common core or relevant to anything. I think Pace does this so that you stay at their school. I could go on and on about everything pace did...I'm so happy that I left this school. All my friends that did stay ( believe me A LOT of people left )hate it. So many kids who were eager to go to college but had their dream destroyed after attending this college. I had friends who went to cc first and said that cc was much better. Also, their campus is the ugliest I have ever seen. You pay 60k a year and for what? They cant even plant a tree. They keep sending me their pace credit cards even though I'm not enrolled. They keep calling my parents house (all automated ads) even though they are on the no call list. They really want nothing but your money. if you still consider this school just let me tell you that I made 10 friends at pace the two weeks I was there ( that was in 2016). A year later 7 out of the 10 have dropped out. (Its 2018 I just wanted to update my review because I’m not kidding you, ALL my friends except one have left the school....) Oh and if your roommate drops out they'll up your housing cost by an additional $1K. If you dont pay they'll force you to move into a new dorm room with another person. Please just stay away from this school... I dont want any one else to experience what I experienced my first year of college."
"I was disappointed with its unresponsive departments after I have submitted my basic application. After submitting online application with a nonrefundable application fee and one other document, I had trouble with its applicant online portal so I contacted & tried my best to be in touch with its admission and the help desk. I've also sent emails...its IT help desk suggested me to raise a problem to Adult and Continuing Education Dept. regarding my inquiry. I did. They NEVER responded. In addition, I sent other inquiries to International Admission Office on early January but they replied exactly a month later. Impressive, right? Then I was very unsure and started to think if they are out of session or if they ignore me on purpose, or something else. After this, and because of my other personal reasons, I didn't step futher processses to complete all requirements. Some time later, I emailed them again, being out of curiosity, and asked why they never replied to me regarding my initial issue. They, then, very nonchalantly said I did not complete my requirements --which is true.I'm very aware that I didn't submit other documents. It was my choice. What I am saying is, didn't they realize that they really failed to communicate with its applicants at the very beginning, even though I asked an urgent help? I regretted so much about spending my money for applicion fees to feed this institution. and I am more than glad now because I was wise enough to stop applying."
