Reviews of Stella's Diner
"Felt very retro when I visited, reminded me what restaurants use to be like before covid took out the niceties and qualities. I felt very welcomed walking in and grabbing a place to sit without having to wait. The food we had was phenomenal. Personally recommend the biscuits and sausage gravy. Best I've had at any establishment hands down. The omelets are HUGE on top of that. Will be returning at some point in the future when I'm out that way."
"The Stella's Diner located near Destiny Mall has a very good reputation. We went there some years ago, but the line outside the door was so long we decided not to wait. So, we were happy to discover that they opened a second location near where we shop at Fairmount Fair. My wife and I both ordered the Stella breakfast sandwich which comes on Texas toast. I ordered mine with American cheese and sausage and my wife requested provolone and bacon. To begin on a positive note, the fried, over-medium eggs were cooked perfectly, and there were 2 per sandwich. However, the rest was not so good. The Texas toast was barely toasted on the outside and not toasted on the inside. The result was thick but fragile, doughy bread that had to be handled carefully to avoid it falling apart while attempting to eat the sandwich. After several bites of tasting only the bread, we decided to discard one of the slices and eat the rest open-faced. The next problem was the sausage. It was hard as a hockey puck and had a strange taste. The bacon was cold and limp. However, the taste was pretty good so we ate that and discarded the sausage. Finally the provolone was good but the American cheese had little flavor. The service was excellent. The server noticed that we were dissembling our sandwiches and offered to bring toasted English muffins to replace the bread if we wished. We declined, but appreciated the offer. Based on our experience, we recommend that the breakfast sandwich be ordered on a toasted English muffin with egg, crispy bacon, and provolone cheese. My thought is, if you request "crispy" bacon, maybe they'll put it back on the grill to reheat before they put it on your sandwich."
"We have always enjoyed Stella's, but our last visit was not good. The waiter said he'd be back in a minute. Ten minutes later, after a waitress said something, he came over and took our order. We both ordered bacon well-done and homefries well done. See pictures. Limpest bacon I've ever been served, and the potatoes were not browned. When we mentioned this to the waiter, he just said, "I didn't cook it." A waiter should notice what is plated and return it if not what was ordered. It is not likely we will return to that Stella's."
"I would NEVER return nor recommend this diner to anyone. It was my first visit here and although Chelsea was a great server, all we heard the entire time were the line cooks screaming and yelling at one another from the back. When our food came out, the roast beef in the sandwich tasted odd and the meat in my patty melt was completely raw in the center, as you can see. We asked for a box to take mine home and cook properly and my friend chose not to even eat his."
"Great atmosphere and good food. My wife, myself, and a friend had breakfast there. What a fun casual vibe. The place was really busy which is no surprise as it was Sunday morning. We had a 20 minute wait. There is a waiting area inside the restaurant as well as in a foyer near the front door. You put your name in the book when you come in and they call you when a table is free. Lots of staff and they were really friendly. It looked clean but there were some things that needed a dusting such as the stretcher bars under the chairs etc but overall it was clean. It has a classic diner feel. The food was good and came out fast. Prices are reasonable."
