Reviews of Emancipated Electrolysis LLC
"I highly recommend and would like to take the time to recognize this jewel within the community of Rochester. There aren't many businesses that will work with you when situations occur, but I am grateful for the understanding and patience. This business was certainly a safe space and a joy to experience. I look forward to my return. Book an appointment and tell a friend!"
"Love Michelle! She has excellent customer service and care."
"I feel like my experience was not so similar to the majority of these 5 star reviews. I was going to emancipated electrolysis for about once a month for a year to treat my chin, underarms and bikini. Unfortunately, a year later I still have the same amount of hair in all three areas and the worst part about it is I now have hyperpigmentation all over my chin. I did not know this when I first started electrolysis.... but it should not feel like your hair is being yanked or plucked out. If electrolysis is done properly, you should barely feel the hairs being plucked out. Unfortunately, I just learned this, so it's too late for me... but just do your research and pay close attention to what is happening during the process. I did call and leave a voicemail that I would no longer be coming back due to the above concerns, I do not want a refund, I am merely just here to give a review of my personal experience. On a side note, I thought both Michele and Keri were very nice."
"BEWARE! pluck pluck pluck that’s all that was being done, no progress was shown after a year+ of treatment only scarring and hyperpigmentation. They do not care about quality more so quantity. Save your money your skin and your time!"
"If you haven't had electrolysis before, I would encourage you to read my review. I had a really negative experience here. I paid ~$4.2k for 50 hours of electrolysis over the course of a year, and only at the end found out that the hair hadn't been getting zapped properly and was just being plucked. I had concerns during the year, but when I tried to bring it up several times I was reassured that it was working and also that the pain I was feeling when the hair was pulled out was normal. It was only after posting about my experience on the Hairtell forums and hearing from other electrolysis technicians that I spoke with the manager and confirmed that it hadn't been working, either due to the settings not being high enough and in one case due to the probe not even transmitting electricity during a session (which I think in hindsight should have been refunded), or possibly due to dehydration. I was drinking 90oz+ of water/gatorade on my session days, however. I believe I was one of the technicians first clients at the business, which I was hesitant about but I was asked if I would like to book with her, in front of her, and I felt like it would be rude to say "No, I want someone more experienced" The technician was very nice, and it's possible that by the time you read this they will have more experience - but if you have never done electrolysis before then I would urge you to be cautious because you won't know what the experience should be like and you can't necessarily trust the technician when they tell you that everything is working/fine. I went through 50 hours of having hair painfully plucked, spent thousands of dollars, and lost out on a year of hair removal progress. I was willing to spend more money on electrolysis because I thought that compared to laser, it was permanent. But that's only if it's done properly, and I'm honestly heartbroken because I don't think that was what happened in my case. I didn't want to be a Karen and leave a bad review, but I also don't want anyone else to have the same experience. If you are new to electrolysis, please read up beforehand on what the experience should be like and be assertive and advocate for yourself if something seems wrong. I don't think I'll ever forgive myself for not doing that sooner."
