"My Mother is very happy at Ellis Residential, and was previously at Ellis Rehab. Nurses are wonderful."
"My grandfather was placed here for rehab two weeks ago. Just got out thank god! As a current nursing person in the family, it was hard to see my grandfather in this place. One reason is because the call lights are ridiculous! First night there took 25 mins to answer a light. Okay fine I understand short staff, etc but it’s not funny to have people sit in their own feces for over 25 mins. Number 2 of why I am disappointed in this place is because the 2nd day he pulled his light took 14 mins for a person to respond. I had gone up 10 mins into his light going off.. the nurse on the unit of Edison Wing said in a nasty way “TURN ON YOUR GRANDPAS LIGHT AND WE WILL GET THERE WHEN WE GET THERE” mind you again he had an accident. Talking to my grandfather the third night in around 10:45 he accidentally dumped his urine container on the floor. The overnight cna aide came in and started yelling at my grandpa that it’s time for her to go home. Next day turns to day number 4 of being there. The aide from night time came to find my grandpa to apologize for how nasty she was towards him. My grandpa understood and was still just mind blown. This place is sad and I feel 100 percent awful for the long term patients as the staff does not care. Aides were on their phone, sitting down on the benches, food was okay, however the ice machine was down for three days. For elderly it’s important they get their water and ice. Door cards were not checked as my grandfather didn’t get a snack before bed cause of diabetes. Everynight before I left after my visits I would have to go get my grandpa a snack or even my grandmother or mom when they went to visit him, to make sure he ate something before bed so his sugar wasn’t low in the AM! If New York State department of health was to go into this facility word be in big trouble! I would not recommend this place for short term or long term. Very thankful my grandfather is out and where he belongs which is home sweet home!"
"Terrible experience! No teamwork and the administration could care less about their employees! BEWARE! This place has rude staff( RN’s,LPN’s, housekeeping, laundry, administration, CNA’s, etc)"
"My 98-year-old friend was in good health but needed rehab for a fall. After a couple weeks at Ellis Rehab, she was rushed to the ER with a UTI, double pneumonia, and COVID. The doctors say she won't live. That lousy staff at Ellis Rehab killed my friend!"
"Not get the rehab as discussed, spoke to head nurse says our mom would be so tired at the end of each day due to rehab, she get walked up & down the hall way once. No shower or washing in a week, we had to do it and ask for water. I’m not thrilled."
