Reviews of Optum Urgent Care - Little Neck
"If I could give this place a zero star I would! Jennifer the doctor was so rude, she wouldn’t let me talk, didn’t bother to learning my history which was very important! I went in because I suffer from sinuses and my nose was supper congested I have tried everything before coming here. When I do the doctor as I mentioned before wouldn’t let me speak and just said you are fine just wash out your nose and take an allergy pill (which I have done already). She sent me home with no medication and I was still in pain! I was very upset and wasted my time the doctor was very useless in my opinion."
"I have been going to this urgent care for years and have given a positive review before. But today’s experience was lacking. Long story short, my husband and I went in with our sick child, check in as normal, and are told we have a large co-pay, which is not true. We explained we do not have an urgent care co-pay and never have, but the receptionist was rude and dismissive. She immediately went into defensive mode. She claimed to be going by what she was seeing on the screen (and would not budge and kept repeating herself), but we knew she must have been looking at something incorrectly. If she was willing to work with us, we could have pulled up past recent claims to show her there is no copay and our insurance automated system also states we do not have one. My husband could see she was unwilling to work with us and said not to engage. This is not about someone making a mistake, which can happen to any of us. It was the tone and the way we were spoken to that is the issue. We went to the next closest urgent care and sure enough, no copay. We asked the receptionist what she saw on her screen and she said, “It says right in front of me, $0 copay for urgent care.” So how was she able to see that? I understand we are all overworked and stressed. But I’m just not going to take poor customer service, especially in an industry that should be seeking to put people not feeling well at ease. Train your workers better to de-escalate and find a way to work with patients. This would have easily been cleared up with a civil conversation and bare minimum communication, but there was absolutely no effort on the part of your employee to do that. Doctors are wonderful though."
"Came here today ( little neck parkway location)11-11-23 with my wife came to this location over the one on union turnpike only because she might need x-rays and this location has a tech on site ( the union location is great) receptionist was very cold didn't even respond to either of us say good morning! I am really against spending money where I receive what I consider unprofessional customer service . Spent her time chatting on the phone didn't even give and idea of how long the wait might be the doctor and the nurse were great I guess its just the cold breeze in the reception area you have to contend with."
"I was here this morning I arrived at 10:10 a.m. was seen and out the door by 11:00 a.m. the front desk receptionist was friendly. The medical assistant however was not. She did not introduce herself. she never said hi how are you? all she said was a Stern why are you here?... After taking my vitals she attempted to give me a covid test and jammed the swab into my left nostril. When I said hey that hurts she removed the swab, rolled her eyes and huffed and puffed. She tried again in my right nostril and again jammed it causing pain. I've received over 20 COVID tests and not once felt pain or discomfort. I again said your hurting me! She roughly removed the swab and walked out of the exam room with an attitude. The physicians assistant came in to perform the test and it didn't hurt at all. (On the ride home I noticed a bit of blood while blowing my nose). I gave 2 stars because I was in and out in about an hour and the front desk rep and PA were were professional. However because of the behavior of the medical assistant I will not be returning to this location."
"Walked in with throat infection was told i am covid positive but instinct wasnt accepting that. I did 4x covid test at home all were negative. I went to quest lab for pcr and i was negative again. I am very upset because my little child had to be away from me because a mistake was made at your facility. Its not acceptable next time run pcr for your patients along with rapid testing. Also the tech was supposed to take my throat swab which she barely touched and when dr arrived i asked her how you take swab culture since that tech dint touch my throat so she said inwikl take it again. I definitely wont be walking in here again unless you hire well trained staff."
