Reviews of CityMD Lynbrook Urgent Care - Long Island
"I'm from Canada and needed care for a pneumonia while residing with my daughter in Lynbrook. I was covered by my Blue Cross travelers insurance. Everything went smoothly and I received prompt excellent care, from the personnel in Radiography, the nurse, the receptionists and Dr Kennedy. There is a point that caused me a lot of discomfort and it was due to an outside party, namely CVS pharmacy (the one near your clinic). It seems their prescription fulfilling system has a flaw in it's working. I waited more than 45 minutes there and they kept saying they had'nt received a prescription under my name from your clinic. You personnel that I contacted confirmed they had sent the prescription, even twice. They tried calling CVS but it semms they don't answer their phone. I went back to the clinic and received a paper copy signed by the doctor. The truly obtuse and incompetent pharmacist at CVS refused to recognise my request. Remember I was feverish, coughing and in pain from a pneumonia. Again your personnel came to my rescue and found out that CVS's system does not recognize incomplete forms and puts them in the virtual thrash pail. My form was "incomplete" because of my address, my postal code did'nt fit the ZIP code pattern used in the US. Things were corrected and finally I received my medication many hours later. These idiots at CVS are following their corporate computer system that has not been programed with some flexibility, at the detriment of the human customer they are supposed to serve."
"NEGATIVE - The receptionist are not professional and friendly. I was told to register at the kiosk and did just that. It indicated registration was done and wait to be called. I was waiting for more than 15 mins and patients came after me were called. I then went to speak to another receptionist and was told I need to have my DL (again) because I have Medicare. Had I not gone to find out, I would have been waiting much longer. POSITIVE - After I was called by the "Nurse" and seen subsequently by a PA, both were very nice and professional. The PA took his time to explain my issues and very understanding. The Tech person who took my X-ray was very nice and professional as well."
"Review at City MD in Lynbrook, LI: I can’t remember the doctors name but I saw her before and she hasn’t changed in giving the patient that TLC, Tender Loving Care. She is knowledgeable however she is too straight forward and very structured. Almost like a parent scolding a child a bit. I’ve owned a restaurant business for over 8 to 9 years so I know all about customer service and what I experienced from her needs work. Until she has learned to have more patience and be tender and easy going I will come back if needed but I will recommend another doctor with out question. The gentleman I met before the doctor arrived was decent but could be a bit more loose even though he was only receiving information. Overall as a patient we should always feel comfort at all times. Because we are coming to you for help. We don’t know what could be the problem and we need a solution. We are some what concerned or just scared of our Situation. So we need that TLC, that some what motherly touch that’s all. Not only would we feel at ease then we will feel less stressed and we will have no problem coming back if needed and will not hesitate to recommend others."
"I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the treatment I received during my recent visit to your facility. Upon arriving with chest pain and a persistent cough, I had hoped for thorough and compassionate care, but regrettably, my experience fell short of these expectations. The physician who attended to me was dismissive, unhelpful, rude and very condescending. Following a flu test, given by the MA, the provider comes in and informs me I had the flu, and tamiflu was prescribed and proceeds to exit exam room, without further consideration of my ongoing symptoms or concerns. When I attempted to express my worries about my chest pain and cough, I was told if I want him to order a cough medicine he will. I stated no, I would like for you to listen to my chest and make sure it hasn’t turned into anything more serious. MD stated I look like a young healthy girl and if I don’t have any lung disease he doesn’t need to. It’s a cough and I will be uncomfortable for a few days I need to just deal with it for the next few days. He at that point read the room and realized I was very upset, he walks over with his stethoscope and places it on my back OVER my winter coat says breath and goes yes you’re fine. And walks out. I had to find an MA to ask if my visit was done and if there was anything else I needed to do. I understand the challenges and demands of providing medical care, but I believe that every patient deserves to be listened to and taken seriously, especially when reporting discomfort and expressing health-related anxieties. The response I received left me feeling unheard and dismissed, and it is disheartening to think that this was the extent of the care provided to me during a distressing time."
"I’ve gone here multiple times for multiple people in my family. From young children to middle aged to elderly. All various reasons. The team here work well together and are always kind. Staff is nice and helpful. The service/ care is usually quick. Doctors are on point and happy to give necessary tests and referrals as needed. Only time there was a wait was during covid when they were offering testing. Highly recommend!"
