Reviews of UR Medicine Pulmonary & Critical Care – Strong Memorial Hospital
"I agree with other reviewers that this group of doctors do not care about their patients. I have had pulmonary issues since May, and was referred by my primary to them 2 months ago. My first and only appointment was virtual. Dr. Petronaci met with me. She did not show me my radiological scans to explain my condition to me. I had to ask multiple times for clarification. It was only on the fourth attempt to get clarification that she said I needed to be referred to another specialist for another condition that is potentially serious. This was after she initially told me there was nothing that could be done about it. A patient shouldn’t have to work this hard to get clarification and information about the results of one’s tests. When I asked about a particular result she answered that I need to see my primary doctor and if my primary needed clarification that my primary should reach out to her. This is absolutely outrageous that a specialist I was referred to wouldn’t work with me directly. I have since referred myself to Rochester Regional and Roswell. Both accepted me as a patient after reviewing my scans and test results. They gave me in-person appointments, which is obviously needed in order to properly inform me of my medical condition and whatever treatment that is needed. I do not recommend going here. My experience left me completely uninformed, needlessly confused, and extremely frustrated. In my opinion, a specialist should work with their patients directly to ensure they understand their condition and be informed of treatment options available to them. The fact that another condition was discovered on my imaging, should have been discussed and I should have been told about it. She also should have let me know that I needed another specialist to treat it. Instead she neglected to educate me about it, tell me I needed another specialist to treat it, and told me nothing could be done about it. This is medical negligence!"
"Do not under any circumstances seek out the services of this pulmonary group! I was told after needing a preauthorization completed because of a change in insurance, that my two phone calls about this issue, as well as my contacting the office after contracting thrush from my inhaler, that I had “overtaxed” the office staff and was being released as a patient. As a Covid long- hauler and asthmatic I was both shocked and horrified. The group has made it impossible for me to see a pulmonologist specialist at both strong and highland without going in through emergency. I am now forced to hope that a group at RGH or parkridge will see me. Seek expertise elsewhere these doctors DO NOT CARE ABOUT PATIENTS. They put my well being in harm’s way because they are incapable of handling the basic needs of patients. SEEK YOUR HEALTH CARE FROM DOCTORS WHO ARE CONCERNED ABOUT YOU, U OF R PULMONARY GROUP DOES NOT CARE!"
"I was assured my father would see his pulmonary doctor after being instructed to receive his covid shot from his doctor. When he reacted negativity to it it took THREE WEEKS for me to get a response. It was to admit him to the ER and the "pulmonary team" would take care of him. He's been in the ER for hours and the only contact is a young resident who says "I would not have skipped the second shot" the exact OPPOSITE of what the pulmonary doc says...next review lists all the Doctors names and phone numbers. You have 24 hours to fix your mess."
