Reviews of Hanger Clinic: Prosthetics & Orthotics
"Hangar Orthopedics was compassionate & flexible with my brother in-law. The office manager, Gretchen went out of her way to assist with paperwork & appointments. I highly recommend this office."
"Dropped at RGH, stump badly damaged, poor fitting prosthetic, painful exposed tibia tip, socket uncomfortable, spent 2 years at Hanger Clinic without any good result, going to URMC Prosthetics."
"First let me be clear: The prosthesis I received from Hanger and have been using to get around for the past few years is excellent. No complaints. The organization, the communication, empathy and the customer service is terrible. I have had a fake leg for 57 years and never have I experienced a staff so unconcerned, dispationate or maybe disorganized, as I have experienced over the past 3 months. My prosthesis is held on by vacuum. The outer sleeve popped a hole in it and I lost that essential vacuum that HOLDS MY LEG ON. I went for a consult. The new outer liner was ordered. "It is being sent second day air, we will make an appointment for you for Wed. Dec21st". It didn't arrive. Weather, Holidays, whatever I understood. The outer sleeve finally arrived Dec. 28th. At that appointment the prosthetist told me the inner liner (which also was to be replaced) has been ordered and 'it will take a little longer." Fine. I kept calling (perhaps 10 times over 8 weeks) and the office manager told me it was just taking a long time and she'd call me when it came in. In mid January she called asking me for a prescription... which I had provided for both inner and outer liner in December... and this also meant the liner hadn't even been ordered yet... when I asked if it had been ordered she didn't answer directly and said she'd call me when it arrived. FINALLY the last week of Feb (10 weeks later!) she called. "Your liner is here, lets make an appointment for delivery." I went in on March 7th. The Prosthetist looked confused. He thought I was being measured for a new inner liner. In other words: The liner HAD NEVER EVEN BEEN ORDERED. How did the office manager call me and tell me it was there and ready for pick up when it hadn't even been ordered yet? The prosthetist was embarrassed and made some calls to the manufacturer... and this is the worst part: He had my liner in 2 days. After waiting 10 weeks for the liner he had it for me in two days because... he tried. Heartbreaking. I think of kids, other folks like me trying to get around and you have these insincere folks too distracted to care or help efficiently. All the BS about delays... if they cared about their patients they would do everything possible to get the essential parts urgently so the patient can get back to their daily tasks. I'm done. I will never get anything from Hanger Prosthetics again."
"Not sure why the negative reviews possibly because so many people will take the time to leave a negative review and not a positive! So far our first appointment went great the doctor cared so much about our son and his development. looking forward to working with you and if anything changes I will update but so far my wife and I feel very happy with our experience!"
"I have been working to get my patient’s orthotics for over 6 months now. The lack of customer service and communication within the Rochester Hangar store is truly unbelievable. We work in the health service field and the lack of consideration for patient safety by this office is neglectful. I will not choose to work with this orthotic company ever again, nor will I suggest this company to any colleagues or patients. I’m in complete disbelief all the way up to management at the poor professionalism. If you would like good customer care and orthotics in a timely and safe manner, choose another company."
