"I love my interaction with my doctor and his nurse practitioner. I would definitely recommend this facility to everyone I know."
"I am extremely frustrated with the level of unprofessionalism displayed by this office. On two separate occasions, they rescheduled my appointment, causing me to take time off from work. What's even more disappointing is that I received notifications just one hour prior to my appointment. As a working mother and wife, reliability is crucial to me when it comes to my doctor's office. Unfortunately, this place falls short in that regard. I strongly advise against choosing this establishment as it has failed to meet my expectations."
"The first time I called the set up an appointment with Dr. Szumigala the woman on the phone was extremely nice and helpful. It was February and the first appt. I could book was for the end of May. A bit of a wait but I thought it would be worth it. I got a letter in the mail that I didn’t receive until mid April that said that Dr. Szumigala would be out of the office that day and I’d have to reschedule. I called to reschedule and was speaking to a new woman on the phone. She was extremely rude, cut me off, and I could barely understand her. The next available appointment was August and I wasn’t even able to explain that i needed something sooner than that because of other medical issues I’m having. Tried to call back the next day to have a conversation with the first woman again but no luck."
"I've been coming to this practice for well over a decade and it has never been this bad. I've had appointments canceled the day of, because the Dr. had an "emergency", I've had appointments rescheduled the day of due to the Dr. being "overbooked". Mind you when they reschedule you, you always have to wait months to get another appointment. This is simply unacceptable and it has gotten to the point where clearly they have too many patients. I never had any of these issues when Sheila Pace was at the practice. Not to mention on the rare occasion that my appointment is not rescheduled the Dr. comes in asking questions like she's never treated me before. Like Ma'am did you take a quick glance at my chart before entering the room. YOU PUT THE IUD IN, how are you acting like you don't know I have it. Being a women and having to advocate for yourself is hard enough, having a medical provider that actually cares enough to provide good service is imperative."
"I wish I could give 0 stars for 0 accommodations and 0 customer service. I'm satisfied with the care I've received from Dr.Sosa. However, I am highly unsatisfied with the clerical portion of the office. People like to call out other reviews, but a lot of those bad reviews have discussed the poor communication of the office staff, which there is. In the short time I've been here, I've been rescheduled 3 times here and I've only been to two appts. My new patient one, and my most recent one. It's ridiculous because I'm in the middle of my last trimester and my appointments shouldn't have been canceled over and over. All of the receptionists, even at the maple location want to keep transferring you and want to put you off on another person. Its like reception is living in the Twilight Zone and something just has to go wrong. I've asked to speak to an office manager and was informed that she wasn't there and she has no set schedule. That explained everything. When a call center rep called to cancel one of my 3 in a row cancelled appts, I answered and she was still in the middle of an entire side conversation. She actually finished gossiping before she even acknowledged me. HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL. It would have been more accommodating to reschedule me with another OBGYN at the same practice within a few days of all those rescheduled appointments. I don't understand how I can't be rescheduled to even see another provider at the office if my appt is cancelled at the last minute. But when I asked if Dr.Sosa would be there during my birth or not, the receptionist got smart with me and said she didn't know because she doesn't work at the hospital. Also they had me waiting close to 50 minutes when I finally had my appt. The waiting room was also tiny and full of people. Covid is still at moderate transmission in Erie County. Moderate is does not mean low. I don't know how the care is here if you're not pregnant and barely have to get seen. But if you are pregnant or have to get seen frequently, I don't recommend this office or any GPP OBGYN office. GPP needs to realize that without patients their practice wouldn't exist or would close. So their receptionists need to think about that before the next time they want to get smart with one of the patients, or circumvent the issue to another call."
