"I sent my NON VERBAL 3 year old to this school . He was in the green room with a teacher named Kristy and principal named Mike . Once my son started this school his appetite changed and he would only want to get on the school bus and not want to go to school. He came home with unexplained bruises on his face . The adults at CP Rochester had many different stories as to what happened to my NON VERBAL 3 year old. These adults didn't follow up with nurses or offer my child anything to sooth his pain. These adults that are in chard of keeping children safe didn't even call to telley child was harmed . I pulledy son out of this school because they kept the teacher that neglected my child and strongly believe abused him as well. The principal Mike acted like he was concerned and cared but immediately took my son out of the school and wouldn't give him anymore school work . These adults must have had an issue with my black son for other reasons they haven't explained. This school is not for children who can't come back home and tell you how neglectful these adults are. I would not recommend sending any non verbal child here. The vice president of the school called me to try and smooth things under the rug about my child being neglected but didn't have an resolve. This teacher kriaty from the green room is still in charge of people's children. They won't allow parents to stay in school and observe. I would rather send my child to a city school. Those teachers really care and don't have any bias on children and won't harm your child for not looking like them. I strongly believe African American children whom are non verbal should not attend this school ."
"My child is mildly autistic like her classmates, but this place put in a more severe child in the class and he is biting everyone a lot. They have had this kid in there for well over a year and won't do anything to stop it. I talked to the director and the vice president who try to tell me that they try to fix it, but have no actual plan to stop it. The vice president even told me that they don't expel kids from the program, so I guess it's just open season here for behavioral issues. Also, I had to find out this information from talking to other parents there. They don't like the fact that I found out, and it really shows what kind of place this is. No real transparency, and lack of leadership or accountability. Send your kid somewhere else or homeschool them or get home services."
"Great people doing great things. Love their services. Very grateful our son has been able to attend there."
"CP Rochester is WONDERFUL! They genuinely care about every student. We couldn't be happier with all of our son's teachers & therapists. They've changed our lives and given us hope. We are so grateful for all they've done for our son. He adores his teacher, Erin Davis and he loves going to school. We love CP Rochester!"
"Employees are underpaid (for instance, in-home respite care workers get only 13 cents above minimum wage, even though Medicaid is billed $28/hour), thus they are constantly understaffed, and cannot provide families of special needs children the services they are contracted to provide. On a positive note, the employees they do have are high caliber, in spite of working for slave wages (the only reason I'm giving 3 stars instead of 2). When we applied for free-standing respite care, they asked us to fill out numerous forms, have several home visits, get a new physical and tuberculosis check, have the pediatrician fill out various forms, and after we spent hours doing all that, they denied our family the respite care due to his medical needs and behavioral issues (of which they were aware before putting us through all that, but told us it wouldn't matter)."
