"DONT COME HERE! Was in the ER 2 weeks ago my nurse was a petite Asian woman totally unaware of how to insert an IV my arm is DESTROYED. Then I was told I’m being dramatic and I’m causing a scene when it took 3 nurses to FINALLY get the IV in correctly. Dr Weinerman SHOULD NOT BE A DOCTOR. She is absolutely miserable and treated me like I was a waste of her time and care. I was born in this hospital it’s always been a favorite but recently it’s turned into a nightmare. Extremely traumatic visit and my arm is still having complications because of these terrible nurses. *ive also never had issues with IV, blood drawn etc my veins are PERFECT."
"I have witnessed the care given at Huntington Hospital for many years, and I assigned 3 stars as the average of all those times. The pediatric emergency department is 5 stars! My children went for injuries and illnesses and got such amazing care. The outpatient surgery department is also 5 stars. I’ve been there 3 times with 3 different family members and 3 different surgeons, all top notch. The adult ER is hit or miss. Just there this week and nurse Moninne and Dr. Winn were absolutely awesome. Was there a couple of years ago and got not such great treatment, had to demand a surgical consult from an actual doctor, they were going to let a PA do a surgical procedure on my daughter which I refused. So, now for the reason I am writing this review after all these years. The inpatient medical unit leaves a lot to be desired. On 5 south, the nurses are not friendly, are dismissive of our concerns even though we are medical professionals. The aides, respiratory therapists, dietary and housekeeping are all lovely. Care managers were awesome, Conie and Danielle. HOWEVER, if they tell you that your doctor is Dr. Guran, RUN! He is the most arrogant, rude hack I’ve ever encountered after 25 years working in healthcare and hospitals. He won’t answer questions, talks right over you, and makes arbitrary and questionable medical decisions without consulting the patient’s doctors. He did consult with one of my mother’s doctors but did not give her an accurate history, so she didn’t recommend any changes to my mother’s medication despite the reason for admission. When we called her ourselves and told her why my mother was in the hospital, she increased her medication. Dr. Guran also discontinued 2 other medications without consulting with her doctors, not even knowing why she was on them. Now I have been waiting 2 hours for a discharge that was completely arranged as of last night for him to sign paperwork, apparently no one else’s time is valuable. I will continue to use Huntington Hospital because it is still the best in the area, but I hope to never need for anyone in my family to need to be admitted."
"This is an excellent hospital with fantastic quality of care. However, there are a ton of hidden bills and they will lie to your face about whether insurance will pay for them. They also recently outsourced their billing department which resulted in a huge drop in quality of service. I would gladly change this to a five star rating if they discussed the full cost of the visit (with insurance coverage factored in) before treatment and they reversed their decision to outsource their customer service. As is, if you do not have infinite funds, I cannot recommend this hospital."
"I gave birth to my daughter at this hospital on 12/7/22 and I’m glad to say I had the best experience. The nurses where outstanding with the delivery as well as postpartum and lactationist. They made me feel calm and not to worry about anything. Not to mention 3 meals a day with dessert and “Date Night” on your last night with your partner, which includes steak and lobster. The cooks are amazing with the food and would honestly get take out here if it wasn’t a hospital! They checked on me every 3-4 or so and made sure I had everything I needed. Yet to say best hospital experience I’ve had ."
"Delivered both my my children here. The first time the L&D were phenomenal but the maternity ward was a bit lacking in care from the staff. This time around the entire experience was great. The labor nurses were caring and if I needed them, they were right there without being pushy. The maternity nurses were amazing. My baby had to stay in the NICU for a few extra days and I saw how they interact with the babies as if they are their own children. They well and truly care about those they are responsible for. Beyond the nurses, the nursing assistants were incredible. Offering to get anything I could ask for, kept everything in the room nice and clean. When leaving and super emotional to leave my little one behind, they offered words of love and encouragement and walked me out to my car. The maternity and l&d have their own parking lot and entrance so you don’t have to go through the entire hospital. The food was good, more like room service than hospital food. The suite we were in was private and looked like a hotel room. It was comfortable for my partner and I to stay in. They even give you a celebratory steak and lobster dinner for you and your partner. Due to Covid we couldn’t walk around and visits were limited to 2-6 pm and 1 18+ person at a time. Highly recommend this hospital for its level of care."
